Well we know one thing for sure, it has to be on a Sunday so the Adrenaline boys can come, but does Sunday work for Mark? I believe it would be necessary for all of them to make it. Aside from the dates in Dec which are both Sat, I'm pretty open.

Sunday works for me if it is a Sunday my wife has off (she works every other). She's working tomorrow, so that should help figure out ones she has off.

If I've figured correctly, the dates Mark's wife can attend (all Sundays) for the next month are 11/4, 11/18, and 12/2. Much later and Christmas will become a major mitigating factor.

I'd very much like to attend, and a November date would work best--come December, I'm back working weekends.

When will the bike be ready?

    Hi everyone,

I thought I should give an update.

We managed to get into our garage today (well, me and some friends. Jennifer was unfortunately at work). My car, while not burned is covered in sludge and is a loss just from the smoke damage to the inside. It smells like nothing I've ever smelled (and I hope to never smell again).

We managed to salvage the bicycle too. Amazingly the tires still had air, but it was covered in sludge. We pressure washed it, but I'm afraid no amount of cleaning could do any justice to it (the frame, sure, but all the tiny joints are just filled up). It too suffered major smoke damage. The thing smells so bad. It is in the front yard of where I'm staying and you can smell it walking up the sidewalk :(

The rest of the garage was a total loss. Building damage prevented me from getting any of my tools out...oh well. Life moves on. I thought I'd give everyone an update. Sorry for cross-threading all these threads. Take care.

Could be more appropriate to do it on the old bike (after stripping the frame) since that one semi survived the fire.:-k

    I'd worry...

... about a frame that went through a fire. Any heat treated frame may be weakened by re-heating... I'd save it for art.

If the tires still hold air, I doubt there was enough heat to affect the frame.

Would anyone really wanna risk it though, especially with a new rig on the way?

Hey everyone. Here is a picture of the garage. You can sort of see the shiny gold of my bash ring. The rear wheel is hidden by the ceiling resting on it (bike is upside-down). The right side of the garage has my car creeper on it, which is torched (along with that pile of "stuff" leaning against the right wall).

All the stuff I wanted to get out was behind those ceiling beams. Such as it is.

Heh. What the picture doesn't portray is the "slime" that is coating EVERYTHING in there. I don't know what it is--outgassing from the various building materials combined with thousands of gallons of water I guess. It's like someone dipped everything in motor oil.
