    Ok guys.

I need someone to get in contact with Mark (Sladnas) and find out what type of bike he would be interested in as a replacement for the rig that was burned in the fire. If someone can PM me with his cell number I would appreciate it.

I spoke with Jim about replacing Mark's bike and Adrenaline Bikes is willing to provide a new bike at or near cost as a replacement, and we will put out a donation jar on the counter for persons to donate to the cause, so long as it is a brand that we carry (obviously).

Additionally, I am asking for charitable persons to dig deep and donate to the cause as well, to defray the cost of the new bike. For right now a simple commitment via this thread will work and I will work out the details with Jim as this issue gels.

Thanks in advance for your donation.

I'd be willing to kick in some cash to help the brutha out. I don't know Mark, but I know how upset I would be if I was left without anything including my bike.

I know he probably has a lot of other things on his mind, but getting him back into the saddle would be a good step in healing.

I have an extra Camelbak that I would be happy to give him. It's nearly new.

    I'll kick in $100, or:

My 2002 Giant Rainier (needs rear derailleur, grips and the tires could be replaced). It has a new chain, cassette, rotors, brake pads, handlebar.

I'm pretty sure he rides a Small Giant, so your frame would probaly work.

Mark rides an 18" Trance. He is about 5'8" I'm guessing.

I have offered him my heavily upgraded Trek HT for as long as he wants it, but it is nowhere near something he would want to ride forever, so this is a nice gesture for sure!!

PM with his cell number sent.

I'd be happy to make a $ donation to a good cause. Nothing like some good mtbing to start the healing process!

Just another thought--Mark also lost his CamelBak, helmet and Niterider HID lights. I know getting him a bike is most important, but if anyone wants to or can kick down with a new helmet and Camelbak and/or has lights he can borrow.

I know when I lost my house in 2002, getting my life back to normal in every possible way helped with the healing process tremendously.

    Thanks again!!

I have a Specialized helmet thats a little too small for me that will probaly fit him (I have a big head), and a pair of specialized gloves for him too.

Great idea, Chris. I'm good for a few dollars, but don't know when I'll make it into Adrenaline next.

Have you thought about setting up a PayPal account, or something similar? I'm sure there are lots of folks from out of the area that would donate if given the opportunity.

Just thinking out loud here, but maybe George could get involved and set up a revolving account through STR. Such an account could transcend this current crisis, and be made available for donations to any member suffering an unforeseen setback or other cause deemed worthy.

    Thoughts?

I think we should charge admission to the fight with the gate proceeds going towards buying a bike at Adrenaline Bikes.

    I'm in.

Let see what Mark wants to do bike-wise before we stampede into Adrenaline (although I'm sure they'd appreciate the floor traffice )

I am in for some cash as well. My evac vehicle had 4 bikes on it when sitting in the driveway so I know how I would feel if I lost my "kids".

Just let us know how to donate.
