Went to big bear to ride some xc for my bachelor party weekend friend rented a rad cabin right by bear mountain. Super fun to get up there and do some exploring. road Skyline to Pine Knot 18 miles or so thursday evening into dark. road Hanna flats and Grays peak friday and then skyline again sat morning. Nice to change it up a bit and we didn't see one other rider all weekend.

Nice photos. Those are my three favorite XC trails up there. Skyline was great last year and it should be even better this year.

We were camping up there at Serrano Campground. We rode Hanna Flats yesterday. Couldn't have asked for better weather. A perfect weekend.

Thanks for the report, looks like a great weekend! Is there a resource for trail maps for the big Bear area? I know Skyline and pine knot, but have not heard of the other trails. I need to spend some time up there this summer exploring!

I just use geo ladders but my friend Stan has a cabin and is a 5 time a week big ride rider so he knows all the stuff up there. We started skyline at 6pm at bear mountain. Then the next morning we woke up and started Hanna flats from the fawnskin fire station out to grays peak then up and back down ( grays peak was epic) only 3 or so miles or up to a amazing rock formation and view. Then back down pretty flowy and fun down hill. Then road skyline Saturday morning again.

it was very hard to balance fireball shots and IPAs with being well enough to ride the following day !

Where is Skyline exactly? Ive gone up the 2N10 many times to the look out rock, then commence down the 1E10 I think that connects to the start of Pine Knot. But would like to ride Skyline

I believe Skyline parallels 2N10 most of the way, but is usually on the south side of the fire road (away from town).
