    FROM THE SNOW SUMMIT WEBSITE:

We request that you try adhering to the majority of the following specs:

    1. Bikes must be less than 38 pounds.
    2. Designated tire size must be less than 2.5.
    3. Front shock must have less than 7.5 inches of travel.
    4. Bikes must have at least two chain rings unless they are single speed.

So my 40 pound M9 strikes out on all 4 "requests" but I'm definitely interested. What are the chances I drive all the way up there and get denied at the lift? Although the word "try" gives me some hope I could plead ignorance and slip by?

Sounds fun though, unfortunately it seems like they are alienating a lot of business keeping DH bikes of the lifts. Maybe one of their exec's should take a quick trip to Mammoth or Tahoe and see how enjoyable (an profitable) a properly run MTB park can be that includes all classes of bikes.

When we rode a few weeks back I saw at least a dozen bikes fitting the "no lift" rules riding the lift. If you have another bike that qualifies just bring that just in case.

And anyone who is coming up tomorrow its fing COLD here right now. I'm talking 30 degrees when I got up at 8

Oh I'm sure they are, it's just a bit frustrating that it's taking this long. My understanding from talking to folks at Mt Baldy is obtaining the Forest Service permits is the challenging part. But I thought they were allowing bikes on the the actual ski runs at one time not too many years ago? I did read a bit on current talks with some park people so that's encouraging. I'm trying to clear my Sunday up so would love to meet up with ya folks up there if I can swing it by chance.

And someone crashed, got hurt and sued SS, they fought it and won. So that might be why it has taken so long.

If you are on the fence about going to bigbear and have never been jump down from there and get your butt out there. The whole experience is awesome

I'm bummed Big Bear is done for the season.. I was getting used to the drive every weekend..
