Had a five week check up this morning and got more good news. X-rays are looking good. Got several different views and the lab tech was a cool guy and showed me all my films.

In case you didn't read or forgot, I dislocated and fractured my shoulder. Well now that the bone has had time to start healing the fracture shows up even better. I thought that it was only a crack across the top, nope broke off the whole outside top part of the ball on my Humerus. It shows as a nice 1.5 inch line on the X-rays.

Doc says everything looks good and seems to be moving really smoothly. He suspects that I wont be having any instability with the joint based on the movement so far. I received paper work to start PT in another two weeks, and have another follow up September 28.

Most importantly I told him I had been riding on the trainer and he said to go ahead and ride road just be smart and stop or take a day off when it hurts.

Glad to hear you're healing up Dave!

One thing though...He says to stop road riding when it hurts? Just keep throwing back tylenol or advil to get through it...the stitches from the testicle removal should heal up in about a week.

Glad to hear that you're healing up! We don't know each other, but when one of the tribe goes down, it affects us all. :)

On a separate note, did a day trip to Big Bear on Friday and I have to say the trails are in awful shape. My first time there and I was not impressed. Wasn't even off the first ride up the lift when we saw a guy lose it on a turn and miss a collision with a bulldozer by mere inches. Lifts had just opened and he was done for the day. That one was operator error.

Joined up with a guy there and right off the bat he took a couple of spills (one real nasty one) on Upper/Lower Fall Line. That "trail", and I'm using the term loosely, was like riding on ball bearings. Just awful. Pine Knot was an improvement, but still bad in more than a few areas.

The day would have been a total waste if not for a gem of a trail that we found way to the west of the ski boundary. It was unmarked and I can't be sure it was on that paper they call a map, but it was fun. The long ride back into town wasn't too bad since the way down was the only good run we'd had all day. Overall, trails were in sad shape and in some areas just downright dangerous. Luckily me and my buddy managed to avoid trouble despite the carnage around us.

Doubt I'll be going back any time soon.

I was up there with a few guys( hopefully the chime in!) About two weeks ago and it was fun. I thought the trails were in good shape, Mind you I havent seen them after a good rain. I thought the dusty, rocky, Nastiness that is known as the Fall line trail was too much fun! I even thought since it was soo loose and dusty it made the trail just that much more awesome! I guess its opinions at this rate.

As for the original Post in this thread-- How you feelin' Dave? Back on two wheels yet?

Feeling sore as of late, but that's because of the therapy exercises. Been riding the SART bike path for a couple weeks. Barrowed DB's Roadie and like it a lot. Getting to the point where the 25 mile out n back is getting easier each time.

Glad you're starting to heal up Dave; soreness is healing, even if it hurts at the time.

    thank you.

96 days later and I just had my last therapy appointment and am heading to the Thursday social loop tonight. Feel much improved but still have a long way to go.

Man, it seems like a such a long time ago that you got hurt. I'm sure it feels even longer for you. Glad to hear the healing is progressing though.
