FULLERTON – A bicyclist was fatally injured when he fell off his bike and was run over by a car, police said today.

Timothy Darren Born, 42, of Fullerton was riding his bicycle northbound on Euclid Street, just south of Orangethorpe Avenue, at about 8:45 p.m. Tuesday when he struck the curb and fell onto the roadway.

Sergio Carrillo Orozco, 48, of Fullerton was northbound on Euclid in a black Toyota pickup truck when he noticed the car in front of him swerve to the left, apparently to avoid hitting Born. Orozco attempted to do the same but was unable to avoid hitting Born, police said.

Born was pronounced dead at Anaheim Memorial Hospital with head and chest injuries.

Orozco was questioned and released without being issued any traffic citations.

Anybody who witnessed the accident was asked to call police at (714) 738-6813.
