OK, everyone has a favorite, and I rode mine twice this weekend and saw only a few other riders.

IMO The Santa Ana River Trail between South Fork and Angeles Oaks is the best trail in socal. I know it depends on your style of riding and endurance, but this trail is hard to beat, especially now...Hard pack single track all the way.

If I am missing something, open my eyes. If you haven't ridden it, your missing some great trail.

What's you favorite local trail or name a trail that comes close to this epic.

Whichever one I'm riding at the time!

That said, the one's I'd prefer to ride are the Cannell Trail in Kernville, Colby Canyon/Strawberry Peak are both way up there.

I have to also vote for San Juan with the Santa Ana River Trail being a close second.

Someone once asked me "What sock do you put on first in the morning?" (Psychological test?)

    I answered "The closest one."

Agreed, and with that I say:

Holy Jim>Upper Joplin>Joplin>Luge>Negra Modelo and carnitas Tacos from Rose's Cantina. Epic for me since I ride from home.

Whiting is one of my personal favorites. Believe it or not, i actually enjoy the climbs and the ending part of the trail is FAST and wide! most of the trail is also shaded which is a plus!

I have ridden San Juan for 20 years, I like it, but not nearly as much as SART. The crowds make it hard to park let alone ride.

Noble is one of my favorites especially the upper sections, but the lower rock gardens make it a hike and bike. I could spend all day riding around the meadows.

    Where is pinyon flats?

I really loved riding Strawberry Peak. Seemed to have a little bit of everything and I went on a gorgeous Sunday and saw only 2 or 3 other riders. SART is fun but I thought it was lacking a little in variety. Have never ridden San Juan but would love to someday.

I'm also a fan of the trails on the north side of the San Gabes... Acorn, Blue Ridge, or the more isolated stuff near Devils Punchbowl. Low-traffic seems to be a theme for me, I like for my riding to be an escape from our crowded cities.

San Juan wont even be in the top 20. You do realize the so-cal is the whole souther part of the state.
With that. Mt Pinos tops all the trails posted, equaled only by SART.
