The problem with a replacement battery is that it almost costs as much as a brand new light set.

Retail on a NiMH is $199. The Li-ion version is $279.

    No worries, grasshopper

As it turned out, nothing wrong with the battery... just had to double charge it (deep charge). Worked great for the SHARE ride at El Moro earlier this month.

Glad it works now. Funny, similar thing happened to me. I had an HID I thought had a blown bulb and all of a sudden it too works.

If you're rocking just one light, I recommend a Mini-Newt plus (helmet mount) as a second light. I just got one and it's almost as bright in the spot range as my bar-mounted HID. Using both on a downhill is great.

Send a note to the guys are Ay Up lights, they are in the LA area now and may have been wanting to hold a demo night out at the fully loop.

Best money I have spent on lights, they are amazing and just like new 1.5 years later.

I have Minewt X2 for Helmet
Considering Trinewt for bars...then all niterider compatability

But also looking at Dinotte, 600L, they seem to get awfully good reviews....hmmmmmm

eh, when I finish my bar light, it'll be ~50-100 lumens more output, twice the runtime, and 60g lighter. I believe I'll be owning the night \\:D/8)

Here are some pics of the strap mount mentioned. The top pic is for 31.8 bars the bottom pic is for 25.4 bars.

Hands down the brightest light I have seen was from Lupine called the Betty 12. Its not cheap but by far the most awesome light on the market.

Mike, I agree on the strap design and the fact that the light sits offset on the bar. So I had a extra QR bar mount from my old HID, took some parts from the Trinewt helmet mount, used a longer screw, and now have a nice bar mount that is centered and solid.

So here is my thoughts at the moment...

For some reason I am drawn to the Dinottes, they have a definite "Cool Factor" and have great packages, great specs, great reviews, and by all accounts great customer service and "excellent clean light"

I and think of the 600/200 combo or just 600, I like the Lumens vs Burn time.

Cons: A little expensive, already have some niterider gear.

Trinewt : I can get a screaming deal on the Trinewt, then I will be an all NiteRide equip chargers, cables interchangeable etc because I already have a Minewt X2. Also seems like a lot of people have niterider stuff so in a pinch there may be more of a rescue option.

Cons: I think the Trinewt light beam may be a little wider but a little less hot/white. I am sure from all accounts that the Trinewt Minewt combo will be more than I really need. I don't see my self yet going on epic epic night rides.

So it comes down to Buy what want for extra $$$ or Buy What I Need for less $$$ and less "Cool Factor"

Dinotte guys feel free to chime in...

I recommend the Trinute 7 hour burn on low beam, 3 1/2 hour on high beam, 1 for the head and 1 for the bars, you can lighten up the hole trail.

    Light choices

I did not want to start a new thread so I thought this would be a viable place to ask.

I am looking for a set of headlights and have come across 2 that seem reasonably priced. This will be my first light purchase and both are priced about the same.

My choices are the Niterider Classic Select Halogens at Performance Bike or the older Led Blackburn X8s.

I am leaning towards the X8s because of the led upgrade that can be done on them.

I would appreciate any thoughts suggestions or experiences on these lights.

I need lights but don't know which to buy...Need help please

Anyone know of any good lights that a pair of newb can start off with? I have a feeling we'll be needing some very soon. I'm looking for something that will last us through the rides...

    Any recommendations?
