What other hobbies do you have other then cycling? I brew beer and fly model aircraft.

I've been brewing beer for about 18 years now and have many awards from comps around the country. I built a brewery in my back yard out of old pool filters and junk yard/surplus parts.

This is what the brewery looked like a few weeks ago, I have moved the control panel into the stand to make it all one unit.

With the brewery I need a way to serve so I built a 6 tap system out of a $50 chest freezer.

Also RC Aircraft - Been flying 8 years but would still pick a day on my bike over a day of flying

Fishing! More specific fishing in the ocean/deep sea. Pier and beach fishing is too boring for me now.

    some times cooking

Golf....haven't done that in a long time

    and that's about it

I've always has too many hobbies so now I'm trying to narrow it down to a few main ones - mountain biking, running, and triathlons.

In the past I've had too many so I never concentrated on just one. I'll still do these but not like I did - softball, basketball, surfing, snowboarding, skatebording, golf, hiking, kayaking, diving, fishing etc. My wife says our garage is like sports chalet.

My other main ones are sword fighting, candyland, wrestling, hide n seek, bedtime stories, tag, and watching backyardigans. OK, the last ones are my kids hobbies, which became mine.

I used to fly rc helis, but I too had a bit of a gravity problem. just sitting in a box right now. Had better luck with foamie slope gliders. my friends and I would just go out and try to fly into each other's planes for hours. great fun

Most of my free time is devoted to mountain biking. I start doing pilates about six months ago as a means to strengthen my core and have actually grown to like it. Having an absolutely gorgeous instructor definitely hasn't hurt. Additionally, everybody who's ridden with me likely knows how big of a foodie I am. I guess part of the reason I ride is to be able to enjoy food without having to worry about adding to my girth.

    Other hobboes:
    Basketball
Anything food related (cooking, dining out, farmer's markets.....)
    Coffee Tasting
Capital Markets (now that I'm not working in the industry)

    Lets see....

Besides mountain biking, I also like road cycling... working in my garage on maintaining and repairing bicycles, bicycle shopping and walking through blicycle stores, browsing bicycle websites and participating in bicycle forums such as this geat forum; reading bicycling books, watching bicycling on TV (there is never enough of it, except on Universal Sports). Oh. Ok I do also like to get involved into things related to training and coaching, of course, only if bicycle related. And of course, my children, I can't tell you how much riding bicycles with them is such an important hobbie.

Nice well rounded set of interests...

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! MAY YOU ALL RIDE, RIDE AND RIDE SAFELY AND HAPPILY IN 2009!

    Scrapbooking! 8-[:eek:8-[

Haha, seriously though. Its a great outlet for my crafty side on a smaller scale and makes GREAT gifts for family.

I'd post some of my work but can't figure out the best way to share it on a site, the pdf's I have are WAY too big to upload/download (ppt.s are even bigger) and looking at each page as a jpg doesn't give the same effect as an entire book.

And anyone have a scanner that scans larger than 11.75" that would let me use it ? Scanning each page 4x and then stitching/feathering in PS is a huge pia!

I have tons of others but I'm prob most passionate about scrapbooking. Except now I think I might start on crafty furniture projects since I got a lot of old furniture left at my new place. And thinking of doing some sort of a mtb mural in my garage...

    Other hobbies:
    Skiing
    Tennis
    Hiking
    Computer/Tech stuff
    Reading
and now starting to get into Mosaics (anyone know of a good place to buy stained glass???)

Beer (reading Brew Like a Monk right now and drooling over a Sabco), motorcycles (Ducati), reading and photography. Oh yeah, and I have one a couple of those bikes with the skinny tires that go fast on trainers, er, paved roads.
