I would say that is more dirt jumping:?:

I would agree smaller wheels are better. Like 20" for BMX bikes.

ps. When I ride 26" wheeled bikes they scare the crap out of me;)

    back OT

If you are going to dirt jump and huck go 20mm (for strengh)

On my XC rides, I jump everything in sight! Or at least everything that I think I'm capable of (my old body has limits). I'm not really a dirt jumper; I just like to play when I'm riding (there are more jumps or launchers on the Fullerton Loop than you may imagine).

I know what you mean by going from 29 to 26 scaring you. Going from my 26 to my 24" BMX bike is a bit scary, but I'm warming up to it. I'm still a little leary to ride a 20.

Hadley hubs are some of the best, and it's nice to know you can convert the QRs to thru axles. Just the same, you can replace the axle in many common hubs to a bolt on axle (work with your LBS on this one, as it takes some experimenting to find the right components). This mod may be of interest to those who want to experiment. As you noted with your Hadley hub, even a bolt-on hub will offer a bit more stiffness over a QR.

Unfortunately, I can't view the youtube videos at work. damn!

ok back OT how about I get a hub that I can convert...then get the Fork later when my skill level dictates or my Wallet is fat enough to get a nice maxle fork....is it a sin to run King rears and hope fronts? :)

    Yep for sho

    :bang:

That is EXACTLY what I may do.

when I had my Intense Uzzi SLX I converted a King 10mm "fun Bolt HD axle" to a 12mm through bolt:bang:

I noticed a HUGE difference converting from a XT hub to a king on the 29ers w/ reba forks. noticably stiffer.

when my dad was still riding, he also noticed a huge difference on his Id when he switched from Mavic hubs to King.

I'd really like to try a 20mm to see if it's all that.
