Sorry about that. It's May 16th. The mountain officially closes April 18th, but still takes anywhere from 2-4 weeks to reopen for summer operations.

I'm having trouble uploading pics right now, but here's the link. Those three trails are to the left side.

It depends. Is it for a single ring? Also if it is they also kind of go by how many of the 4 restrictions you abide by. Like if you have 3 out of 4 they won't really give grief.

    I wish I could go...

Some of those DH guys are going to get hammered on this... I think. DH Bikes are usually 35+ LBS, if I'm correct. I'm looking at the beast-y GT Fury, its all carbon and 36 LBS.

Probably not the best day to be riding the "off the map" trails.

If your bike fits all the requirements other than 3 chain rings is that ok? I run a bash guard but have 5.5 travel and 31 lbs and a single crown fork. I will throw on a third one if needed, just thought I would ask.
Opps sorry, you already answered that^^

is it down hill or just all mountain/trail?

I have got away with the 2 rings and bash guard every time but like I have said many time you never know. I would bring a old big ring and bolts to change to out if needed.

I would be interesting in going but I am worried that my Lyrik will be an issue 160mm > 6". Sure its not much but I would have to see them be sticklers on the 6" rule and have to go home over .3 inches.

hmm...guess it's time to go weight weenie on my reign again. a set of light wheels, some XT cranks, something other than my gazzoladi in front (even though tire would KILL in big bear).

definitely keep us posted on the status of the lifts though. I'll definitely be frequenting big bear this summer if they keep taking bikes to the top.

btw, I believe that they termed it tires UP TO 2.5", not less than 2.5". at least that's what I was told last summer.

I always under the impression that it was 2.5 or less. Thats one thing I was never questioned about last year.

I got away with dual rings and bash last year for Denmo´s Birthday bash. I´ll be on the same bike this year. Hope it is okay. Also 160mm fork (same as last year too).
    Any opinions?

    Where is that dice pic:lol:

Its a crap shoot. I think a 160 would be fine except for the fact that mine was questioned that same weekend. I never had them say a thing about the bash guard though.

just have somebody in the group carry a tape measure. they can't really argue with you if you only have 160mm of travel.

looking at their site it is less than 2.5 tire size... :?:
