Just found out from the doctor that I have a severe infection of the prostate/urinary tract. I'm told it was caused by the longer rides I do. They've got me on a couple very potent antibiotics and by Saturday if they are not working (as in if I'm starting to feel better) then they'll have to switch to something else but it'll require hospitalization mostly because it has to be administered through an IV. This could get expensive very fast. I don't have insurance. Not sure how long I'll be off the bike but preliminary all blue sky from the doc said about 3 weeks.
Sorry to hear that. I know it's got to be a real bummer. Keep your chin up and best wishes for a speedy recovery. Keep us posted if your doc has to go to plan B. Best Regards, Robert
Bummer Mike. I know how much you enjoy those long rides. Hope it turns out well for you. Get well soon bro.
Bummer! Remember this: With all bad comes some good. Be aware, and you'll likely find some good come from this. Just be positive!
Dang Mike, that really sucks. I hope you heal up quick. I know that a hospital stay can got real expensive real quick. Just a few months ago I had an over night stay at the hospital for a bleeding ulcer. It happened just 2 days before my insurance kicked in so I have to pay the full amount out of pocket. The incident is costing me nearly $20,000
Thanks everyone. Helps me out, not so depressed as I was when I first got the news. I'm looking into a couple options for some assistance and I already told them I'm not going in blind I want to personally approve everything that has to be done. I'm not paying 8 dollars for two Advil or some other stupid stuff like that.
Was this caused by improper seat position? nose to high? Id like to know so i can try and avoid nd not end up in a situation like this Heal up soon bro.
You know I'm not sure. I've rode with the exact same configuration on my bike for years and have never experienced anything like this. I'm still trying to wrap my head around this and figure out a way to prevent it from happening again.
not for nothing, but can't you go into an ER and tell them you have no insurance and get the medical care for free? I've seen plenty of people in the ER doing just that when I've gone in (but my insurance paid for me).
