Here's hoping that whenever I grow a set and start doing it on purpose the results are a little better.

Yeah, you should be fine! Severe concussions, dislocated shoulders and pulled muscles throughout the upper body usually take about 2 or 3 days to heal. But just to be safe, you should give it a week.
You are one lucky guy. You shouldnt push that kind of luck!

Get well soon PacMan, but don't push it too hard. Many of us have experience that proves you don't want to push it when it comes to concussions or back injuries.

The trails will be waiting for you.

Scary stuff! Glad to hear you're ok (relatively speaking). I'm sure you're feeling quite fortunate, considering how bad things could have gone.

I hope you're back on the trails soon!

Oh, and what are you doing riding farm equipment in the dunes? :?::lol:

Ouch man! Glad you're gonna be OK. It's a good thing you were in the dunes instead of hardpacked/rocky terrain. There's probably no "good" place to crash, but if I had to choose, I'd go for crashing in soft sand with plenty of friends and family to look out for me after I went down.

Wow, glad to hear you're ok. I saw some hints to an accident in other posts, but I had no idea how bad the crash was. Heal up fast Doug and don't push yourself to hard.

If you can't ride, maybe you can flip cheeseburgers on the bbq for J for his mid-ride snack. :)

Glad to hear you're doing okay after a crash like that... crashing on an ATV always sucks!!! should switch to a motorized 2wheeler in the dunes/desert... easier to bail off when needed. lol healing vibes!!!

Got home from seeing my family doctor a bit ago and he said that from looking at the records sent to his office by the Brawley Hospital ER, they did a pretty thorough exam (the Brawley Hospital ER has a reputation for not being the best) so that was good news.

He gave me a pretty in depth exam as well and said all appears as good as can be expected. He said I definitley have "Post-Concussion Syndrome" as my constant raging headache shows, and slight feeling of not being all there, so to speak.

He told me to take another couple days off work and get some rest and I should be good to go in no time. So, all is looking good for me to ride Sunday, although definitley more subdued.

I asked him about riding as soon as this Sunday and he said to be sure not to push things. I promised to be a responsible adult for once and if I didn't feel up to it, I would just show up for the BBQ.

Anyway, I just wanted to share the news. Thanks again to all for the well wishes!! Yet another reminder that STR may be a lot of things, but FAMILY describes it best.
