Just got home from the ER. Damage: Broken radius going to my elbow, slightly separated shoulder. I was coming down the last part of Rock It and washed out on the dirt right before the last turn, went otb and skidded on my left arm/shoulder. i rode out under sanjay's supervision. thank man ! I'm seeing an ortho tomorrow and they should be able to set me up right and let me know how long i should be out of work and off the saddle.
Sorry to hear this grasshopper.... we've all been there.... or are waiting to.... unfortunately! Heal quickly.
SUX to wipe out.. like I always say, after the pain is gone your story will live on.. heal up and get back in the saddle as soon as you feel well enough to ride. :bang:
Lovin's a tough cookie! Unfortunately, I missed the crash. Met with the guys back at the cars. He was a bit dirty and scraped up. But no complaints about the pain. We went back to the shop, droped off cars, then we all went to go eat. Randy didn't decided to go to the Dr.'s until AFTER he went and chowed down! You'll be back on the bike in no time. Let it heal right. You've gotta a lot of riding left to do!
I just did almost the exact same thing 06/01 and I am 3 weeks back on the bike now. Down for almost a solid 2 months. Heal quick.
Healing vibes man.....I had the same injury. Look for about 5-6 weeks of therapy if you are having it surgically repaired. I broke my radius April 19th, surgery with two pins was done on the 21st...and I was back on my bike by middle of July. That was, however, with physical therapy three times a week and forcing myself to not miss any exercises for any reason. Hardest part will be any supination of the wrist and forearm, which is basically turning your arm and hand palm-up. That will take the most recovery. The shoulder separation still is there, still hurts with certain movements and can take anywhere between 4 weeks to 8 months to recover. I saw my doctor last week because the pain is still there...and low and behold....the separation is still there. Almost a quarter of an inch. Just focus on the therapy. Its a bitch and hurts like hell, but if you stay at it hard, you're looking at 5-6 weeks. Speedy recovery man. PBS
Good luck with your recovery. Just started PT last week myself for a broken arm. Listen to your docs and you'll be back up before you know it.
