I use the ones that have zip-off legs. I have several pair from Azonic, Oneal and Fox. I also have some old school Fox BMX pants which have the ankle cuffs on them.

When buying pants keep in mind the style of riding you are going to be doing. Some of the pants have rather wide leg openings and are a pain in the butt as they tend to get caught on stuff. Some pants have cuffs and some have velcro closures and some of the moto pants have nothing (as you tuck them into your boots).

Fly seems to make some good pants, Troy used to wear them before being sponsored by Troy Lee.

Good point! Although my My TLD Air pants don't have flared lower leg openings, they are open cuffs (no elastic). Occasionally when riding my BMX bike, if I pedal backward, the right cuff occasionally catches the V-brake arm. It's not a problem when it does (how often am I pedaling backward when riding/racing a BMX bike?) but it is something to think about. I could imagine where they could get caught on chaing guide systems or the big ring, when running three rings.

I'll donate some advice. Buy the dicky double knees. 15-25 bucks at jc pennies and very comfy once broken in and washed a few times. Good moto style pant 90 -150. If you want moto pants and can only affard one pair buy some that are vented. Like Denmo mentioned don't go too baggy, elastic or tapered ankles are ideal.

Riding in a kilt seems like a bad idea to me, especially if you're going commando!:-kPlus I'm not sure that your sporran wouldn't get in the way.

I have a pair of zip off leg ones that are pretty much shorts since they are way long and way baggy. I plan on seeing if my mom can hem them shorter and make then come in more.

dont have any action shots right now. armor fits well under the double knee version, since they tend to be a little wider.

might be a tight fit with the standard straight cut dickies, but I've fit some lower profile armor under there.

That would be a nice change. They're close to my work, and I've wanted to buy stuff from them, but they wouldn't let me pick it up. [-(

Wearing pants allows me to freeball, because wearing shorts allows my balls to be to free and slap my pedals.

i usually wear some old baggy cargo shorts, but now ive upgraded to some heavy duty camo pants. just big enough to fit pads under and the ankle is narrow so they wont get caught in anything. i dont think ill bother buying real bike pants until i get more serious with racing dh

Its all about the blue jeans.
They are almost the only thing I ride in. Kirkland(Costco) jeans is where its at, $13 for a pair. You cant beat it.
