I was wondering the same thing but I saw a guy that looked like PF on the side of the road with a flat. It was down hill so I rode by really fast and wasn't able to confirm....plus I figure if it was PF he'll catch up...fast!

Myself and the girlfriend did the 50 miler at a casual pace (her first road ride over 30 miles)
We realized that though we can't climb worth a damn, we can both haul a$$ down hill and hit the flats pretty well.

We finished in like 5 hours, and I wasn't in the pain shed I felt good.

Thats a novel idea, ride my bike and feel good afterwords... Hmmm I won't be feeling that way after 12 hrs of temecula in Nov.

I only did the 64miles. My co worker was having back problems. We had to stop 3 times for her. But it was still fun. Look at this poser:lol:

I did the 62 mile route on my 29er, with road tires (on a Fox Fork), in 4 hours. It was a fun ride, but I think I need a road bike if I do it next year.

    Hey Bri,

I sent you a message. I didn't wake up till 6 am. I blew it. I had already paid for this too. I ended up on a 7 hour mountain bike ride though.

I had a great time yesterday. That was my first organized century. I was able to do it in a time of 6 hours flat, thanks to Duke777 for letting me draft :). I was feeling really good until we stopped at the last aid station with about 25 miles to go. We only stopped for about 5 minutes and got back to it and I was not the same. Legs felt like lead. Powered down some gu and kept at it. Luckily the we hooked up with a small group the last 10 or some miles, which made it a bit easier. I look forward to doing more of them in the future.

That was a great section of road. Really open sight lines around turns.

Me and Jay tried to haul a$$ down 78 but there were cars that keeps slowing down for some slow riders that won't move over for the cars. So after few wasted sprints we gave up.

Guess there were a few STR peeps out there. I didn't see anyone and i'm sure no one saw me but thats OK b/c it was definitely a good ride. I psuedo poached and joined the group after aid station two which is near my house. totaled out at 67mi. Stacy and her riding companions finished the century in 6 hrs elapsed time. Sweetpea and magdelano also racked up a 100mi in a slightly less-quick pace. sweatpea could've gone faster but chulo kept stopping and complaining about his shoulder :-({|=

It was a great day with great weather and a great pace! My legs felt great the next morning thanks to a miraculously effective massage after the ride.

Ok this was my first century and it was great. I met a few STR guys on the route; sorry if I wasn't able to ride with you guys longer, I was just in my own world and wasn't sure what I was in for since it was new ground for me. First 40 miles went great, but by 60 miles I was starting to get worried that there wasn't going to be enough in the tank. I was able to ride with a friend for a while who has lots of experience and we helped each other a lot. At the 80 mile aid station I needed a good break and good regroup cause the climbs were really started to take their toll. I limped out of the station and tried to spin for a while and just finish. With about 10 miles to go, I decided to let it all hang out. I found another guy who was looking fresh and rode with him. He told me he was hurting too, so we agreed to take turns doing the work and it worked out awesome. i was able to find some weird reserve tank and we hammered the last few to the finish. Thanks Andy wherever you are, it was great. I finshed in 5 hours 40 min. I'm going to do the palm springs century in February now and maybe another in between. Thanks to all I met and say hi to me again.

I have to defend Chulo. At the 4th aid station, it was Chulo who had to wait for me to arrive after I got stuck at a couple of red lights and just plain bonked on the last hill that, as far as I was concerned, wasn't supposed to be there. Then he had to wait while I ate everything in sight. Thank god for cheetos and peanut butter.

That was the hilliest century I have ever done and, according to the description, it only had about 50% of the elevation gain of the others I have ridden. How does that happen?
