Tani, since you offered, lets help you out. Offer up something at a killer price with a minimum number of buyers.

I know there is a very common item that all bikers could use. Say maybe a X9 rear der/shifter combo or something along the lines. Do you have anything that you have a ton of stock on, or you could get a ton of stock easily?

I've always heard that clothes have a TON of markup and there seemed to be some interest there. Everyone here could use an extra jersey or an extra pair of shorts. Maybe we start the STR group buy thing with something simple? Tani, you could still make a decent profit just by sheer volume?

    Any other ideas?

I'd be willing to put together a group deal for coaching if enough people interested.

We could set it up for a specific event; like the 12 Hours of Rim Nordic in June or Xterra Snow Valley that same month.

I'm sure there's a homer or Fo that could ship them to me.

Clothes could be good because there is a bit more margin, so maybe a bit more discount. The problem is sizes make it complicated.

Maybe a chain cassette combo, as we all wear out drive trains. My suggestion is XT cassette with a 990 chain.

If you guys get a big enough order together, it could be anything from tools to parts, to accessories.

Heck get enough buyers together, and we could do frames, forks, whatever.

The above sounds good, since the parts are universal and you wouldn't have to be concerned w/ sizing. But as mentioned before I think a Leatt brace would be a hot item since they are so inherently pricy.

If someone wants to play point on a specific buy, send me a PM, and we will work out the details. If you can get enough buyers, we can do a deal on anything.

It's smart of you to jump in on this and offer to facilitate. Not only does it help you (even if low margin) get a little more buy and hand-over business but it also helps "the group" as you have much better clout and pull with vendors and manufacturers then a small group with no experience. Plus, it keeps the volume wheel turning as some vendors and manufacturers set sometimes unrealistic quota's for businesses. This might not effect you but I know it does others as they can't generate enough volume to maintain minimum purchase requirements. In some instances, it's better to make a small margin and compensate for it on volume vs. not make anything at all. Tani, you're a smart business man. Nice job.

I don't think so but nice try. Even at cost, I couldn't afford a Moment right now so it doesn't matter.
The only thing I'll be angling for is...well....let's just say that you'll find out in Utah. Dejavu, pal! Simon, close your eyes and ears. This could get very ugly! ;)

Someone needs to put together a Poll of all of the things listed on this Thread and then we could all vote. Lets give a timeframe on the poll and then whatever has the most votes we will do a Group Buy with Tani at THE PATH.

I would do it but I have no idea how to!:?:
