Hey everyone, I'm new to this site and was wondering if anybody rides Loma Linda's Hulda Crooks Park Trail?

Loving the trails and hoping to group with a few people.

    thanks

I have been up there a lot but not so much lately. My advice would be to just get out and explore it. Iris not that big and there are usually other folks out there riding if you have questions on trails. Watch out for runners and dog walkers.

Yeah my folks live out that way so I've tried Hulda Crooks. It was summer and I almost died from the heat. It looked like a pretty fun spot though, maybe more for winter. Curious; Is that bass your'e so crazy about have a bridge, or live under a bridge?

I ride Hulda Crooks at least twice a week. I normally ride about 4pm so it's hot as eff! I'm heavily armed with knives and pepper spray so don't sneak up on me, okay?

    See you out there! :wave::wave:

That Mandy character will run right over you if you get in her way. Myself on the other hand I'm a nice ol slow guy that likes the climb as much as the descent. When do you want to ride?

I ride there pretty regularly. It can get hot, but in the evening there is a nice breeze from the west that cools you off Ok when you are not in the canyons.

I know there area few guys that meet up on Wednsdays at around 6:00pm for a group ride...pretty mellow and not too challanging. Would be a good opportunity to get familiar with the area.

If you go south on Mountain View from the 10 fwy, go all the way up the hill until it dead ends into the park. On the right there are tennis courts, on the left there is a dog park. Typically everyone will meet up next to the dog park.

FYI, it is a little overgrown and sandy on some sections, but overall it is a fun place to ride.

I normally don't ride with the Wed 6:00pm group. I try to start around 5ish.

The group ride changes every week...typically at least up to jedi, then they may do return to Jedi, snail trail, or go all the way to the top then over to Jackrabbit.

I have a few loops I will do depending on How I feel...

One is up the main road to John's trail to the top, down return to Jedi, up to the top of Jedi then to the left down snail trail and back down to the lot...6.5 miles, around 1200 feet of climbing, same descending.

Another that I have been doing lately is Up to the top of Jedi, to the right down Jackrabbit, back up past to the top of jedi, down snail trail and back down to return to Jedi..in and out, then back to the lot...8.7 miles, around 1300 feet of climbing, same descending.

If I am feeling really good, I do John's trail, return to jedi, up to the top of Jedi, down Jackrabbit, back up past the top of Jedi, down snail trail and back down to the lot. This is around 10 miles and almost 2000 feet of climbing, the same descending.

If you are not familiar with the trail names it can be confusing, but those who go regularly know what I am talking about.

It is a little overgrown and Sandy...but still fun. It is s nice climb back out also if you like climbing.

Also, sorry, I don't know of any maps. It is not too hard to find your way around though. There are usually a lot of riders around..especially in the evenings after 5:00p or 6:00p or in the morning on the weekends. Just ask around.
