They are at it again!! Hope everyone is ok..All i know right now is the chopper is hovering and the firemen are hiking to the scene. Dont know if its a hiker or biker yet:?:.....

So all I have been able to gather is that someone was rescued from one of the ridges. I am assuming it was a hard to get to area because they came in with the OCFD chopper and put him/her out and flew them to the ambulance staged at Irvine park. Maybe someone was there and can chime in with info?

Can I make a request? Instead of twitter-type reporting with redactions, can you just hold off and then report on these things once the FACTS are known? Seems like every time you post one of these there are redactions...after panties get in a bunch. Lets just wait until the whole story is known, ok? No one is tuning into STR for up-to-the-second reporting.

What you report is appreciated...but so is jurisprudence.

make sure you read the date and time on the posts though. What the op posted recently was more than 3 months later than his original post and hes just using this as an original thread. Hes only posted once this time. I think the info is good , even thoug somewhat inaccurate because its hard for us to get info, since the news hardly follows us moutain bikers.

This is not an actual newspaper.
The whole story is seldom known.
The post this morning was entirely factual.
And in fact, people do tune into STR for up-to-the-second reporting. (This is usually the first place to hear about earthquakes.)

I do agree that unconfirmed second-hand info should not be posted unless it is clearly labeled as such. We don't want someone commenting on an accident victim's condition if it isn't confirmed. (This is a general statement and did not happen in this thread.)

Jasonmason I agree and apologize. You are correct as I have jumped the gun and posted before knowing the facts. I did not know you guys felt like that. Im not here to upset anyone, just thought I was being helpful and wanted to see if anyone was riding the oaks and hope none of the boys got hurt . If I wasnt lazy I would go over there and checked it myself since I live so close.

What I posted this morning did indeed happen and I tried to leave out any unknown facts. I was listening on the scanner after hearing sirens screaming and having the helicopter hover over my house.

Thank you. Did not mean to sound like a dick, just didn't want to see (read) things spinning off in other directions before the story was really known.

I, and I think we, appreciate your concern.
