I love racing my bike and without the help of sponsors, I would never be able to affoard what I love to do.;)

This post is to prove that even us little people can have fun racing and can promote local brands. This year was my 1st year being sponsored by Nema and I have to say I love their shorts and gloves. Earlier in the year they asked riders to submit photos wearing the gear. And then I get an email telling me one of my photos had been used in the catalog.

I really am not trying to toot my own horn or SP (insert aw shucks/modesty smilie here) but to show how amateur racing is alive and well in Socal!!!

For those of you who race and are interested in looking for local sponsors, check out Sponsorhouse, if you haven't already!!!!

    +1 on the shorts

I've had a pair of Nema shorts for a few years. I like them! They fit me good and they didn't cost me a lot.

I got two pairs of Nema shorts this year and love 'em. I'll have to take a look at their gloves.

That's a nice picture no wonder they used it. I agree, with out help I couldn't ride as much either. I'm not sponsored by Nema but have a lot of respect for them, they give a lot back to cycling. They put up the money to build the DS course in Santa Ynez. One of the few companies that offers a contingency to experts at nationals and Fontana. There president is an avid cyclist, very humble and one of the best riders I've ridden with, who quietly does a lot for the cycling community.
I know there product and the Revolver line is killer, there stuff is designed with the cyclist in mind, the way the cut and stitch it, vent it and the materials they use. If you want the nice looking quality gear this is what to reach for.

I'm thinking about picking up Revolver shorts from Jenson. Possibly a Jersey. Jersey is marked down to $20 and the patns are marked down to $45ish. Can't beat that price!

The more XC ones do. The Podium and Revolver are DH shorts

For 2010, the XC shorts are the Crown Jewel, Jewel, JewelX, Searcher and Telonix all of which have chamois.

The Gambler, Revolver and Podium shorts are DH and do not

Does anyone else find Nema shorts to run small? I love the quality and materials. Top notch, for sure. But larges are pretty snug on this 32/33 waist.

Which model are you referring to? The old Podiums run smaller than the new Revolvers. Oh, and don't dry them unless you want them to shrink. I hang dry mine.

I wear a size 35 pants and the 34 Revolvers fit perfect.

I'm a little unsure. I think they're the Crown Jewels.

Interesting note about Sponsorhouse / Loopd. At my work we've done some web work for Kali Protectives (a new Bike / Moto helmet manufacturer). Kali was planning to use Sponsorhouse to start their Pro Am team. But, when they ran the idea past their retailers, they came back with a big "Hell No."

Apparently there's quite a few manufacturers on Sponsorhouse who are sponsoring tons of riders by giving them "pro deals." They price these pro deals a bit above wholesale, but far below retail. So, the manufacturer sells direct to the customer and gets more money than if they sold the gear to a shop, the rider pays far less than retail, and the shops are stuck out in the cold.

This means that if you're an up-and-coming brand hoping to get into retail stores, you have to stay the hell away from Sponsorhouse.

Now, this worked out well for us, since Kali had us build Kali Riders, which is more or less a Sponsorhouse style site, just for Kali.

If you're looking for a helmet sponsor and have some good photos and videos, it's worth making a profile. I know they're still growing their Pro Am and Pro teams.
