I also got to ride this trail for the first time last Friday. I'm all for new trails opening and I respect the hard work put into them. I was a little bummed with this one though. It just didnt have any of the features Aliso is known for. I think I rode over one rock on the way down...:-k With so many great trails on the other side I dont see a need to head over that way. This is just one dudes opinion so if you havent ridden it yet definitely go check it out for yourself. Definitely a XC friendly trail.

Rode this trail for the first time today and just have to say that its a great addition to Aliso. Thanks to Car Wreck, it prepared me for the steepness of this trail. I really like it and it just enhances your overall ability/experience. Thanks to the peeps & the ranger for making this trail happen. I also noticed on the way back, there was what possibly looked like a trail off to the left by the wooden bridge when your near the bottom of Meadows. Anyone know if this is actually a trail, cause it looks steep & chunky.

Yes, it is mine and No, I did not disable the embedding for the video. YouTube for some reason changed the setting and won't allow me to change the it back.#-o Oh well..... we'll just have to watch it on youtube, it's just one click away anyway. :)

Edited: I think it's working again.

I think I know now what the problem is, whenever I logout of my account on YouTube it disables the embedding. But I still can't change the embed setting even when I'm logged in though. :?:

Trail not legal. All legal trails in Aliso will be signed at each end like all the other trails there.

I posted this in another thread regarding the trail: When we get a bit more moisture in the soil we are going to add a lot more berms and retool and bench several sections to improve the trail. This is a work inprocess. The finished product will be a lot more flow friendly... but this will never be a high speed descent type of trail... it is meant to be a slower more controlled speed trail... something a bit different than any other trail in the park.

    Stay tuned....

No, you can ride through the park and head over that way via TOW, but going up Meadows will get you there easier since the turn to the trail is at top of Meadows. Just follow the single track that goes left at the Meadows trail sign and follow it, you'll see the new sign for MS.

Jeff and I had the oppertunity to ride this trail with Greg a couple of weeks back. Greg stated"this trail is going to need a good rain or some moisture. We need to add a few water bars after that."The trail is fun and a Blast. However its a new trail and still needs some LOVE! Thank YOU for all your hard work.

Never better than today. Nice packed dirt with great traction. Forget the berms, this trail is ready.

Thanks for that video, gave a good impression of the steepness up top, and the loose dirt in a lot of the turns. Was this shot before Friday's rain or after?

Picture from the upper trailhead this morning. Hero dirt all the way down thanks to the lightest of rains.
Good wildlife day also - rode within inches of deer and bobcats.

Yeah, you can open her up a little bit more now. It's going to get better and better. Can't wait for the next Aliso trail opening.

i finally rode this trail today and thought it was a lot of fun. the dirt was in great shape this morning and traction was excellent. that being said, i can imagine it being a slide/skid fest in the late spring through summer. the trail was steeper than i thought it would be overall. while there weren't any extended chunky features, there were a few steep sections, with a 90˚ turn at the bottom, which were fun. the trail was also longer than i thought it would be as well. this trail is a great trail to work on your braking, that is for sure. we both cleaned it without dabbing at all, but i can see where a lesser experienced rider might dab in quite a few sections. i wonder how many people have blown out the back of that left hander towards the top and nailed that bush/tree?

thanks to all those involved whom made this trail happen!

My second time riding this trail and it's MUCH BETTER now. A little rain made a big difference, and while it was fun before, all the loose stuff has tightened up and it's great now. So much fun. Definitely need to watch out for some of those 90° turns and fortunately they have bush crash pads... at least for now.
