A lot of people have been asking for a newbie ride at Aliso so here it is. The ride is going to be difficult however we are going to regroup frequently and mock all the show offs that clear the climbs easily. Time: 8:00 am Here is a link to the trail head where we are going to meet. We are now meeting at MILF Park http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=e...4&ie=UTF8&z=17 If you want to go super fast this ride is not for you. If you wanna have a great time, meet some great people and have fun this is the ride for you. I am open to ideas on the route, I was thinking Cholla-Top of the World-Meadows. I know that's not the easiest route but I think it would a lot of fun and provide a feeling of accomplishment.
What kind of "difficult" Pugz? Technically-difficult or fitness-wise difficult? And Newbie-friendly as in new to STR but been riding a while or beginner friendly? Thanks in advanced for the info =)
Sounds like that'd be a good route for recent joiners to the world of MTB. Nothing too hard but plenty of fun
Tara, just say yes and you will be fine. I am sure you will clear more of the climbs than I will. Like Zach said you can do Turnbull you can do this.
Never ridden Turnbull, but you were saying it's a bit more difficult than Fully Loop this past Sunday.
1x1clyde [05-02-2008 07:44 AM] - I want to go super fast and would rather not have a great time, meet some great people and have fun but can I still go?? We are bringing the shop ride over there next sat, starting at 7am. Will look for you on the trail!! Great, it will be really cool to see you guys out there
I need to know where to meet. I have only ridden Aliso once and we met at the part real close to Cholla.
more importantly where are we going afterwards for beer? I vote we go to players sports bar. more than decent food. However not quite Hero's proportions. :drunk:
Pugz, I can sweep for you. I know Aliso and much as I know Fully. I am totally prepared you should see what my mom packs in my pack - when I go on longer rides. Tracie - If you single speed I'll single speed with you and trust me we will be slow on the climbs. Julia12
Looks like i'll be riding gears...Neil & Maddie gave me a FS for my B-day..and i'm supposed to get used to riding it, so i've got some time on it before D-Ville :bang:
What kind of trail is Meadows? Have never been down that one. I guess how does it compare to Rock-it since that the trail I am most familiar to?
meadows is a sweet ass singletrack that winds down the side of a hill with some switchbacks... here's a snipet of what meadows is like
So its mellow? Just wondering since a few rides there are ones where I think I would wear a Fullface helmet.
it's as mellow as you want it to be...to be honest there have been some recently that ate it good...just dont get over your head.
Ok thanks, so it sounds like full face isnt major overkill. Also is there good spots to take some pics? I was thinking I would bring my DSLR and try and get some good shots.
http://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=92831&daddr=33.551753,-117.720201&h1=en The above link should take you to a map that shows where the trailhead is, it shows it coming from fullerton. This is a street, we are meeting at the park there. There is no need for a full face helmet, Meadows is a fun flowy singletrack. Traci - I'm glad to hear you have gears again and I look forward to seeing you out there.
