They need to fix the sand trap that the main trial is becoming. There are areas that have become single track. :?:

    You are right, grasshopper...

Sand is a real problem in our parks these days... especially now that we are and have been in a draught condition. You have only to ride Whiting that just re-opened to see that this is not just an Aliso Woods problem. SHARE has trail work scheduled for the park... and, as you might have guessed, the trail work is normally done in the winter months when the ground is much easier to work.

I suggest that you talk with the head ranger there (Ed) and see if you can organize a trail work day. Anything we do has to be done with the blessings of Ed and he is very open to having people come into the park and help... unlike other parks in our area that will not be named.

I was thinking just yesterday that Meadows, especially near the top, needs some serious help. I can deal with sand on a fire road, there are areas throughout the park which are more in need of assistance for sure.

I'm in. Can we do the "do not enter" trails too? I think those need more help than others. I'm sure the WS can get a "special permit" to patrol and maintain those trails; yes?

It is when there are packs of runners going one way on both sides of the trails, all with Ipods on.

    Passing on left, oh wait

Passing on right , oh wait,

F-it going up the middle through deep sand. :?:

Runners and hikers usually respond well to bells. EVERYONE should have one IMHO. I get a thank you 99% of the time.

The sand isn't that bad especially that it is on Wood Canyon. There are other trails at Aliso that need maintenance.

You could stop and yield the trail to them too if you don't like the sand or wait for them to clear that portion of trail :?:

I know it's lame if they're not being courteous trail users and don't want to share with you why should you with them, but hey some things are unfair #-o
