Which trails at Aliso usually get hit hardest by the rain? Andrew really wants to do 5 Oaks today but I think it will be too muddy.:?: If anyone's been out there yet I'd appreciate opinions
I rode down rock-it about 2 hours ago and it was great. Some dirt got washed out of between rocks, like in the rock garden, so it's more exposed but I thought it was great. Singletrack didn't get washed out either.
Wow, well it turns out we did do 5 oaks today. The trail was all do-able, but I've never seen it in such bad condition. There were ruts everywhere. It wasn't to muddy but just a crap load of ruts. But i have to say, i still had fun!
Yea it was a decent ride but its in really bad shape. Should be no problem for all of you :bang:gnar:bang: downhillers though. I figured it would help pack the trail down but instead it washed away all the loose stuff and left nastiness.
The dirt is still sticky, It felt like I was pulling a trailer. Mathis and Lynx seem to be a bit more rocky. Anybody tried Meadows yet?
Hit Lynx and Rockit this morning. The dirt is still soggy and drags you down a bit, but definitely worth riding. Lynx has some new ruts, not too bad though. Rockit is in good condition still.
It looks like someone did work on the lower part of Five Oaks where the rain basically wrecked the berms. They also added a new jump towards the top. Its now much more rideable than before. Rockit is looking great, too. We rode up it after Five Oaks. It is still rutted before the rock garden but not bad compared to last rainy season. Man, after El Nino hits these trails will be unrecognizable.
Mathis and Meadow great shape Afternoon ride up Mathis. Met a trail crew on Dripping cave. Almost done filling ruts. Meadows was great, the tacky dirt made for great traction!
