I missed all you guys too. Next year I know to not take any Tuesday night classes.

I can't say anything about this series that hasn't been said. But I will say it warms my heart to see those pictures of Ted. What a role model!

And Kimmi didn't break her number plate in a crash. She was riding so fast the wind just snapped it in two!

You should at least try the other local races (US Cup, Rim Nordic, Sea Otter or VQ). Unless you don't like to climb. I'm sure you would well.

    Awesome Series

Just wanted to drop a note on how fun this series has been!
This was my first first race series i have ever done and I already cant wait for next summer to come around. Ill bump up to Sport class for sure. Hope to see Manny and Laurence in sport next year, the competition was great! We all need to get out and do a fun ride together.

OTH is FUN! Some days you don't want to go, but you never regret it afterwards lol.

The reason I took my geared bike instead of my ss was because I wanted to see how i've improved over the last year. I was 10 minutes faster 8/30/11 than 8/31/10. Not too shabby for 2 laps ;)

Hello. I am new here and not much of a trail rider yet. I used to ride when I was younger and now just recently got a bike to lose some weight and get back on the trail. I was at the final OTH because my dad was racing and I hadn't been there all season. I figured I would come by and snag some photos. I am in no way a professional but figured some would like to see and of course keep. I am not selling them or anything, just figured some of you might like them.

I was a the larger fella in the bushes just before you come out to the parking lot. Enjoy and hopefully soon be able to see ya on the trails.

If you would like a hi-res version of any photo just msg me an I will do my best to get it to you.

    Thanks!
    Joe

thank you. It was my first time shooting mountain bikes. I am certain there were other parts of the course that were better, but for the first time I think I did well.

    Long story short:

-Met the gentleman in the hat (week 4)
-He approached me near the STR tent on Week 12
-He asked if I knew the man in the picture (below)
-I informed him JSD would return in 5 minutes
-We chatted until JSD made his way back to the tent
-In the gentleman's own words: "John, I thought you might want to have this."

The Gentleman was kind enough to email me a full resolution image of...

    Oh My! #-o

Friggin JSD, showing off his superhero powers again.. Awesome photo!

I don't know about anyone else, but today felt strange not having to shag-ass to Irvine Lake today....

    On a side note,

and also at the risk of sounding ignorant:

As some of you who I'm friends with on Facebook might know I just recently read "It's Not About the Bike" and up until recently I really had no idea what it meant to have cancer. It was never something I saw happen around me which I suppose is a good thing for my close friends and loved ones but after spending a few days reading Lance Armstrong's story I have a whole new perspective. Not that reading a book can even come close to what the actual experience is like, I feel as though it gave me a faint....(very faint) idea of the hardships and trials and tribulations associated. Most importantly though, it gave me insight into what guys like Ted Posch and Scott Burrows (just to name a few) went though and how much more amazing the fact that they are riding now is. I don't know Scott too well, hopefully I will in the near future. Ted was a hero before to me for all of his accomplishments on a bike....he is now an IDOL. Guys like them are just f'cking amazing.

May 22 is just a little farther than christmas, but we're looking forward to it (the gifts part) with greater anticipation. Might even be a second round of OTH Series sale around Christmas 2011, just to get the pumps primed.

You guys rock. See you on the trail...now we ride.
