7:30 AM at the parking lot off GMR/Big Dalton Cyn road. (also where you would park to go ride monroe TT if riding dirt).

    So far:
    DavidB, Myself....

The goal is to get to mt baldy road... and if we still have some legs left... Go UP baldy to the lifts to tack on more climbing. If not, we go down baldy.. down mountain and take baseline and foothill back to the cars.

anywho, this should be a good ride with whatever route we take tomorrow. I'm a bit weary of this route but it should be a good one. Right off the bat we're climbing for a while but I see so many others out there climbing GMR so it can't be that bad. Not sure if/where there are places to refill, so bring as much water as you can.

I ended up going with a local group in rancho, Cycling connection. Went up baldy road, total was 35 miles and 2111 ft of climbing. They were pretty amazed I was keeping up in the front of the pack on my fixed! Some of the guys are probably on STR

Glendora Ridge Road is badass :bang:

Saw Byron B as we were getting out of our cars, and eventually got to Baldy Village after some fun on GRR. Did I mention how awesome that road is?!

Got to the village, bought a water (restaurant didn't open until 11), chose not to climb up to the ski lifts, but did some extra credit over to Bonelli Park and took the streets back through Covina/Glendora.

Chewy brought Spam Masubi  and that stuff cures the post ride hunger or something

The views up on GRR are amazing

Good bumping into you byron and friend!

Awesome ride. The ski-lifts are on the list for the next ride. We wended up with ~5100 Ft climb, and 51 Miles. Got up to 49MPH down baldy.... sketchy!

Good day for a ride! Hope its not as muggy next time. Pics!

Killer place to ride, no real traffic, good climbs, good road, beautiful views.....

    Thoroughly enjoyed it!

Dave does however need to figure out which side of the road is the RIGHT side lol

We went and rode a little ways over from where you guys were. We did 39 to Crystal Lake But we did go by East fork:

Good Ol Slappy was kind enough to wait up for my sorry ol butt. We did around 30 miles and I hit 80 going down 39. I think we got over 3K in climbing.

Yep, that's right 80 as in 80 kilometers per hour

Dizle I was going to ride with CC today too but I thought they were just doing their normal route up to Sheer Road and I wanted to get some climbing in. To keep up front with that group is a major accomplishment even on a geared bike but you doing it on a fixie.....well, that just ain't right.

    Great job, I'm impressed!:bang:

I was talking today with Chewy about how cool the 39 is to climb, but I've only ever taken it to East Fork (then over to GMR). Is the climb up to Crystal Lake as bad as people have made it seem?

riding up there makes you feel..... very very small in the gran scheme of your surroundings.

I'd be down to check out the 39 to the 2 climb....
