a little update on this trail: may-sept is not the time to try it, especially w/ the bike.

a 28-year old from aliso v. died two weekends ago on skyline. he started hiking late (6 a.m.) with his g/f, turned around half way, and fell unconcious a mile short of the trailhead. rescuers got to him pretty quickly, but his temp was 108, and he didn't last long.

that being said, i'm hiking the full cactus-to-clouds hike to the peak this saturday (4:30 a.m. start) with some folks from p. springs. if anybody has experience with that type of hike and would like to join in, shoot me a p.m.
