Looks like I will be volunteering this year. I believe I will be down by the newly built bridge in Tierjas Creek.

For those who may not have registered yet, the following went out in an email today, and I believe it's now on their web site too:

Top 10 Things You Need To Know - 50 Mile Ride

Thanks for registering for our 4th annual 50 Mile Ride for Project Rwanda. Get ready for FUN and ADVENTURE!

A few final instructions. Please read to the end!

    1. PARKING – Car pool if possible. We will be filling the upper lot on Santiago Canyon, and the “fenced” lot on Live Oak Canyon. When those are full, you can park along Santiago Canyon Road (both sides are available). We will have volunteers helping to direct you. Arrive a HALF HOUR EARLY to park and check in!

    2. CHECK IN – All riders MUST CHECK IN to receive their rider bags and bike numbers. FAST TRACK Check-In is available at Rock N Road Cyclery on Friday April 9 from 11am until 6pm (27825 Santa Margarita Pkwy, MV – near corner of Los Alisos and Santa Margarita Pkwy – 949-859-5076). Riders who missed our online registration can register on-site at either the FAST TRACK or at the event on Saturday (Saturday fee is $60). If you checked in at FAST TRACK on Friday, you do NOT need to check in again on Saturday – just show up ready to ride! All other riders MUST CHECK IN on Saturday morning.
    Check in Times:
    • 50 Milers – 6:30-6:45am, for 7:00am start time.
    • 25 Milers – 8:30-8:45am, for 9:00am start time.
    • 5 Milers – 10:30-10:45am, for 11:00am start time.

    3. NO CREDIT CARDS – We can accept ONLY cash or checks for registration (as well as for merchandise or raffle tix). There is an ATM on-site at Cooks.

    4. PLEDGES – If you’ve been collecting pledges, please bring them with you when you check in. THANK YOU for going the extra mile (extra 50 miles?) to help us raise funds. REMEMBER – if you bring in $200 or more in pledges, you are eligible for a special drawing for an Epic Wide Action Video Cam.

    5. RAFFLE – We have over $20,000 in raffle items – no kidding! By now you know our Grand Prize is a Trigon full-carbon race bike valued at $9000. Here’s just a few of our other prizes: Oakley Jawbones (5), Epic Video Cams (2), Kona Kula Supreme mtb frame, Ritchey wheelset, Blu-Ray disc players (2), 7 day San Juan Hut Trail trip, iPod nanos (2), Angel tickets, team-autographed Ducks jersey, tons of accessories and shop gift cards. We’ll use a “Chinese Auction” format, so you only put your tickets in the bags for the prizes you want to win. Raffle tickets are $1 each. For every $20 in raffle tickets you buy, you receive 20 blue General Raffle Tickets and 1 RED Grand Prize Raffle Ticket. Our raffle will start at 3pm, whenever most of our riders are back from the course. MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN!!!

    6. LIVE AUCTION – For a genuine Project Rwanda Coffee Bike, autographed by Tom Ritchey, mtb legend and Project Rwanda founder. This is the coolest bike ever, and you’ll be the envy of your next group ride.

    7. BBQ – Cooks Corner is sponsoring a BBQ for us (burgers and hot dogs). Cost is $7, and all net proceeds go to Project Rwanda. BBQ starts at NOON, and will run all afternoon. Invite your friends and family to join the fun!

    8. VENDOR BOOTHS – We’ve got some great sponsors lined up with booths this year. Plan to stop by to show your support.

    9. CUT OFF TIMES – Riders on the full 50 Mile route must arrive at the Dove Canyon waterfall by 9:00am, and must return to the waterfall from Caspers Park by NOON in order to continue their route. Our aid stations will close at 2:00pm, or when the last rider passes through (whichever occurs first). All 50 and 25 Mile riders must finish and return to Cooks before 3:00pm. If you are running behind the cutoff times, please respect our Course Sweepers who will ask you to turn back.

    10. RAIN OR SHINE –The forecast looks GREAT for Saturday. But our event will be held Saturday no matter what!

THANK YOU! We look forward to another epic day on the trails, and a super-fun party afterwards!

Patchy fog in the morning with a high of 64. Sounds like pretty good weather for a nice long ride. :bang: See everyone in the morning!

How are we suppose to determine your normal weaving around from your sleepy weaving around? :?: Guess we should just smack you for good measure regardless. ;)

    Quick Question

So I picked up my registration packet and have a question. Do most people ride in the Rwanda jersey they provide, use their regular ones, or wear it post ride? :?:

Wear what you want. Most will wear the shops or clubs they represent, others wear the official jersey.

Picked up my number this afternoon and got #6. I was like  errr, uhh....didn't you mean to give this to Manny or Tinker or something? I know it's def not a race, but it still feels funny for a scrub like me to be rockin a single-digit plate! 8-[

I may wear last year's jersey, since I seemed to fall right in between sizes on this year's. Oh well - that'll be good inspiration to lose a couple more lb's, starting right after the post ride BBQ! Riding that Trigon should be good for working off a few extra calories :)
