I am still looking for a 5 person team to hook on to. 40-45 mins. lap times. Looking to have fun and compete.....not expecting podium finish. I also have 3 light sets, so if a team is short and they need me....bonus. Let me know. If I don't latch on......then I guess I will be working the event. mtnbikej
In the original 24 hrs post. It looks like a team is ready to form: L8 Apex Klowie Butters You - Mountain Bike J Shin Ken said he would race when I saw him yesterday - Sack up buddy and register Eco Dork just needs the STR motivational speech and he may go. Someone take the bull by the horns and make this happen. It would be cool to have a 2nd 5 man team out there. C
That soundl ike fun....I don't want to be the team captain, mainly becuase I have a ton of other event responsibilities to take care of.....mainly getting the trail completed. I would like to show up and just have to race. I will already be there helping set up/take down, marking the course and doing the volunteer work with the Warrior's Society that I usually do at these events. The crew at Switchback cyclery is puting together a corporate team and I am always welcome there, but I was hoping to to more than 2 or 3 laps. L8 Apex Klowie Butters Shin Ken If one of you would take the lead and become team captain, we could get htis taken care of. My only requirement is that you race until the race is over. I have been/seen too many 24hr teams that quit 14-18hrs into the race. Let me know. mtnbikej
Thanks guys! but I had planed to do this with this other friend of mine as a 2 person team!! very sorry b/c I know how much this sucks toget the team going!! for gods sake we have like over 100 people on the site!! can anyone else jump to the occasion? COME ON PEOPLE!! THEY ONLY NEED ONE MORE CAT!! *cough "lucas", *cough "Ecodork", *cough "SPROCKETHEAD"? lets do this partnass!! IT should kick butt!!:bang: I've meant to say "SPROCKETHEAD" he he
 I know it's all in good fun, no worries! And I know it's only $85 and that is very reasonable, but unfortunately we are in super-saver mode these days. Even going to be phasing out our phone service, newspaper, cable, etc before too long. This is kinda lame and I don't expect anyone to jump at the opportunity to "sponsor" me, but if someone splits the fee with me and could lend me a light, I'd do it. Otherwise, I'll have to pass this one up. Here's to hoping nothing breaks on ye'olde Rocky Mountain for the next month or two...[-o-]
Anyone have experience and want to be captain? Just need one more to complete the team. I'm in for the full 24.
I don't know what it means to be the captain and I don't have any experience, but I do want to race this and if I commit I will difinately go the full 24. Why don't we meet at the pre-ride this Sunday with $ so we can register our team?
Basicaly the Team Captain is in charge of getting the team registered, picking up the registration packet, making sure the teammembers know when and where to be, deal with any correspondence that may have to be done. Not really a difficult task. I have done it before, but this time around I would like to show up and race.[-o-][-o-] If you want to take on the task, I will help out if you really need it. mtnbikej Sounds good to me.\\/\\/ mtnbikej
I know the feeling. Don't worry, it'll work out. Anyway, that's why I don't think I'll be doing any races this year too. I'm finding a lot of potential customers care more about $$ than quality work. This means my services go unused while these people have some hack wannabe electrician install fire hazards in their home. Some of these folks would price out heart surgery. Oh well, eventually I'll find a general contractor that doesn't mind paying fair $$ for the exchange of non-cheeseball work.
Thanks Royta! I feel ya' on that! At least those who "know" go with quality over cheapness...right all you Turner-owners???? Big contributing factors for us is that my current teaching contract expires in June, we're moving soon (which is wicked expensive these days) and we are planning to buy a house out in North Carolina...gotta save 'dem pennies!
