Just figured I'd post it up in case anyone wants to come to Southridge? The usual shenanigans...4X end with some DH. Ricky needs someone fast enough to wear his helmet cam and actually get his entire run.
We'll say noonish or anytime you can make it?

Sharky, I just might be in on this one. Lets see how "sick" I'm feeling when Wednesday rolls around. Normally taking a day off wouldn't be too much of a deal, but I already have Monday off, so...:?: But Ricky pretty much sold me on it tonight.

I don't mind riding with slower people. I'm a hack on the 4x course, so don't expect flying craziness there. I like the DH, but same story until I know the course better.

so anyone else wanna do a few hours on friday along with us?

I might be down for friday just depends on work, I never know whats its going to be like. Do they normally have the DH course marked on friday? That would make things easier to get some runs in because you never know when they are going to start the 4x race so its hard to practice DH.

I will see about wedsnday, I want to ocme, I am not much for riding the 4X coarse, mainly because I suck at it, but I will try and make it for DH, it will all depend on what I have going at home, and if I finish my chores<sp>

Now i my self Is new to the dh/ freeride thing (i mean brand new) so a few questions if i may.
    1. Do you need to shuttle up the hill to go down?
    2. Where is the trail head?
    3. Any tips on riding this trail?
    4. Does the main trail connect to the 4x area?

Note that some of the answers may lead to more questions!:?:

    1. shuttles are only allowed to run on race days. all other days, you have to hike your bum to the top. it's not that bad though, as fontana isn't the greatest elevation change in the world. the practice shuttle on the saturday before DH races will cost you 5 with a registration, or 8 without.

    2. southridge park parking lot. this is right next to the 4x area. bunch of jumps n things, hard to miss.

    3. bring water, be ready for loose, and be ready for boulders

    4. there really is no main trail. there is a wide area next to a wall adjoining some homes (better known as just "the wall"). this extends from the park near the 4x area, back to the more DH area. not exactly crazy trails leading to the 4x track though. I would recommend showing up for a practice day and having someone who knows where they're going help you find your way around.

Others can chime in but you can see in this link we usually park at the cul-de-sac end of Long View Drive and hike up to that big white tank...there are several routes back down.

In this view to get to 4X you can ride the trails to the left of the cul-de-sac down to the Southridge park. We park there also since it's all connected.
Haha Bryguy if I do it'll be in stealth mode...sneak in...race ...then back to the bat cave!!

I'd probably find $5 for you if you raced in a batman outfit. seriously, that would rock. another 5 if you crashed in front of a photog
