Let me know if we're doing CX instead. I have a feeling that might be easier than doing it on a SS :?:

Does that factor in the 1/2 dozen or so tubes you have to carry to fix all the pinch flats?

Looks a bit familiar....like the SS/FS Spider 29 I raced in Jan at Temecula.....to think I was going to bring the Retrotec:-k
    Maybe CX? Maybe not.

Why not do them all? Anyone got some 9 speed STIs and some road BB7s I can borrow for tomorrow?

Last year my group (inadvertantly) avoided the whole problem by simply riding behind the sweeps:eek:

Okay I didn't seriously consider doing this ride until.... well, today. How difficult are the routes (25mi and 50mi), and what is the typical finishing time? Or in other words, if I take a long ass time, will there be any cheeseburgers left for me?

My longest ride ever has been around the 20mi point, so I don't know if the 50 miler would be too much for me or not.

I am on the fence for tommorow but it looks to be a good time and also for a great cause as well. If I do will only do the 25 miler. My GF is going to do the 5 mile fun ride. She just started riding.

It's best to avoid the Slacker group if you plan on only doing 25, otherwise you WILL be coerced into the 50

mtnkitty - I say just go ahead and give the 50 a try. If things don't go well at the 25 mile mark, you can always just head back and grab a cheeseburger. You won't ever know if you don't try, right?

I have never done this distance either. I am going to just do the nice steady pace keep hydrated and bring some food for about the half way mark.
