Here is my map of this ride! http://www.trimbleoutdoors.com/ViewTrip/1553742 Note we did bypass aprox. 1 mile of planned rout do to thorn balls penetrating our tires while HAB to avoid thorns. Great ride tons of fun in Fullerton. Hats off to the city for keeping biking alive in the hills! Also note this rout links, if I counted corectly 13 or 14 Fullerton parks!

I live in the 'hood where your urban HAB stairs are...could probably have my kid show you his urban AM lines that he's made and make it ~40 mile loopage.

Hey, I saw that you were wondering where the goats were off of the Fullerton Loop. I found a small herd of goats this weekend on a horse trail not used by bikes. So, to get there, start at the court house going the usual way but don't drop down at Hiltshire. Instead go straight, under the bridge and, about half way between the bridge and Bastanchury, on your left (west?) side, there's a break in the fence with a trail down. Take that trail, go across and to your right when you hit the driveway/road and continue on the trail to your left. And yes it is a legitimate, legal trail. On that trail you'll hit a spot where you have a left turn and head up a hill. The goats are on your left. Cuter than hell. I saw them when I walked the dog on the trail. The next day I rode it on my bike and missed them because I was busy getting up the hill. The trail comes out on another street. If you turn left a head up, you'll see a little singletrack to the right. I took the dog on that one and it was nice but it dumped us out on a bad spot on Bastanchury where there was no clearance on the road or the dirt next to the road. The next day I found the legitimate extension of the trail further up the road where it tee'd into Pine Ridge Knoll. I crossed over Pine Ridge Knolls and went behind the white fencing of the corral where the white horse lives. That trail ultimately hooks up with the horse trail that runs alongside Euclid. You can left there and hook up with the regular trail where Hiltshire and Euclid meet, or you can go right, cross Bastanchury and turn right onto the train tracks trail which will ultimately take you to the start of the golf course trail.

My friend and I took the train tracks up to Imperial, turned left on Imperial, crossed Harbor and went down (left) on the train track trail just past Harbor. That trail will dump you out at Laguna Lake.

AND, btw, I had 10 thorns and tubeless tires, thank god.

    Greg,

Here's a little detour for the the next Tour de Fully. At this section, instead of making it an out an back, turn right on Hermosa and take it about 1-1/4 miles to Puente. Turn right on Puente and you'll come to the newest bridge in Fullerton (http://ocbike.org/2012/03/puente-bridge-links-brea-la-habra-fullerton/ ). This will take you across the Brea Creek Golf Course. You will weave through the homes and turn right on Brea Blvd. Take that and join the Panorama Loop. You'll miss the train tracks unless you want to double back for those later. Or, I guess you could do the reverse and come from the Panorama Park and hit the Fully Golf Course and tunnels twice.

Come on Vincent - plan it and they will come.

Do you want to do it tomorrow? Sunday? I'd be game.

I stayed on he tracks past Hermosa and went up to Imperial where I went left and jumped on the train track trail just west of Harbor to go back to Laguna Lake. There's a little side trail off of that one too. On Google Earth it looked like the train track trail went all the way to the Whittier Greenbelt trail. I'm not saying I want to do that. But if someone else wants to try..

I did my new trails ride last Sunday and pulled out 10 thorns from my front tire when I got home. I have tubeless but my friend's front tire was flat the next day.

Thanks for the invite but I'm riding in the VW City of Angels Fun Ride tomorrow. I bumped into Vincent in the parking lot this morning around 9 and I'm not sure he was even awake yet. Good luck Greg.
