Might be a good idea to have a standby vehicle on the corona side. Hows skin suit lately? Anyone ridden it in the last month or so?

Just did Coal Canyon to Skinsuit and back home this morning. The wind is incredibly lame right now but skinsuit is very very nice.
Did the 27 mile loop on my Salsa Fargo, drop bars and no suspension are fun on skinsuit#-o

Is it still singlespeed if you bring all the gear and extra cogs to change during the ride? As long as you only use one at a time, right?

At the start of this thread, i thought it may be a fun "introduction into singlespeed" challenge for me. Now it has become nearly an epic. Have fun everyone.

I hope not. You need a "everyone friendly" farewell ride. That, and it's gonna be sad if you bitch out half way through your own farewell ride.

I'm still up in Monterey working/job interview, as of right now, I'll most likely be up here until the last week of this month, with just enough time too get back to SoCal and move my stuff up here. I'll keep you posted on what's happening.

Is anybody else interested in starting this at the original time of 8:00 with me and Greengiant?

I really try to avoid waking up in the dark on my days off!

Just a FYI for the route.

I have received a few recommendations from some friends that hit Skinsuit last weekend that perhaps we use the TLD trails instead.
Skinsuit is currently loose over hardpack and the ruts have become deeper.
While I am sure everyone going is a Sam Hill clone on the DH trails :), it would be a drag if some folks day ends on Skinsuit.
That being said the TLD trails while not as long as Skinsuit still have some "challenge", I am sure no one will be let down!

Agreed. TLD trails instead of Skinsuit seems like the best way to go for a group ride like this. Added bonus for riders who aren't that comfy on DH yet (but still want to punish themselves with the climbing mileage), they can always opt out of the TLDs and descend Skyline instead. (Just my $.02)

Just a heads up: the NWS has a 40% (now it's 30%) chance of showers in the Santa Anas tomorrow, although it sounds like it should be light. It's been so dry, it should be soaked up pretty fast...right?!

Greengiant and I will be parking at the gate and ready to roll by by the crack of 8ish.
