Friday the 13th, not much luck in Sycamore

    It's War on Trash

Slow on the climb means you see through the camouflage

An encoded message (with a candy wrapper)?

The sunlight hit the bottle just right (hard to see in pic). It had some bio agent inside so I was careful not to open it (tx Bvader).

You'll need water if you keep dropping those bottles. :)

    Seeking cooler altitudes (8/16) ...

What else but another (unopened) bottle? I say accidental on a fast downhill. No Gu wrappers anywhere.

    IMG_3711 (Small).JPG

    Looking up (always STIL)

    IMG_3712 (Small).JPG

The parking lot near the ski hut was clean. I think the star gazers policed the area. :)

been off the bike for a bit.. BUT..this week I was back on and found the following (no photos)

rubber band, candy wrapper, gu packet (empty), plastic bottle cap.

Overall things looking pretty good on the trails. If I did this on road rides, I'd never be home...so much trash on the roads :(

Minor trash pickup while climbing Blackstar. Not much as the trail is fairly clean. I did receive my reward however. Went to pick up what I thought was an old bubble gum wrapper and it turned out to be an old faded plastic bag with a new spare chain link in it.

When I got to main divide I decided that you will need to drive up a truck to pick up all the trash there.

Speaking of cleaning up the roads...

I picked this up on Crown Valley on the 21st.

If you look closely, the biker who threw this got screwed.
    2010-08-21 12.26.02.jpg

I initially tried to transport the tire/tube as seen in the picture, but the tube got caught between my brake pad and rim (not sketchy). So I tore the tube off the nail and stuffed it in my jersey and threw the tire over my seatpost. I managed like this for about 3/4 of a mile until I got to the 7/11 parking lot. There I found a dumpster where I almost passed out.

This is not the view that I had while picking up trash:

Binh & Jen & I made the schlep to Mt. Pinos in Frazier Park today.
I haven't been there in awhile and I could not believe the number of shuttlers that were there. We humiliated them by climbing really fast and refusing to move over as they tried to bomb past. Then when we got to the top, we turned around and humiliated them again by getting to the bottom 40 seconds after they did.

Then I had the gall to mooch a ride for Binh and I to the top. Thanks Kishme and Lone Ranger! Of course I'm kidding on the first part. Not the shuttle mooch though.

Good work Ladera Dave getting in a grunt to the campground after a couple runs!

Lots of crap left behind by mindless hikers and their stupid plastic bottles. One was left stuck on a branch on the trail with the cap dangling from another branch. Morons.
One bottle has some Clif crap blocks in a torn wrapper that I stuffed in the bottle.

I left the tampon I saw in the bushes where I pee'd behind. Sorry. Maybe that was the gutsy pick up that woulda got me the $$. Can't imagine anyone else would have taken it either.
Mt. Pinos is behind us! Beautiful ride and tons of fun! saw lots of STR peeps today!
