yeah that may be a whoooooooooole nother thread... Anyone want to buy an almost new Socom Frame??? Long story short I may be building a new DH bike#-o#-o#-o
Justin had one or two of those. I never tried one, but I think he broke/bent at least one. Not that they don't work for some, though!! He's just wicked hard on his bike parts.
I too am building a 1x9... 11-34sram in rear with leftover deore shifters and derailer parts. so sounds like 29-32 is the hot setup for middle rings?
sorry... 29er... like rick.... same bikes even LOL So tell me more about the 1x9 setup you have sitting around....for sale?
I can tell you that it is nearly impossible to find because I searched for this chainring/Crank for a couple of months to find it... Boone is not making anyhting right now... Pm me and I can bring it to Funtuckey if you want to check it out...
That's pretty! I doubt i could afford it LOL. Next question - is ANYONE running 1x9 without a chain guide?
Seriously. I just noticed my polished White Industries cranks are scuffed. I almost wept. It's like seeing someone draw a mustache on The Mona Lisa.
I spent half of my time at the SS lovefest trying to convince people that climbing with a SS is EASIER. :?: The laws of physics may contradict me, but I can't ignore what my legs tell me. Spinning & spinning & spinning in the small chain ring is SO much more work than standing up on a SS. I resemble that remark!
With the right chainline and a high tension rear DR, I would think it would be possible. Maybe run short cage or medium cage rear DR to reduce the slack and shorten the chain. Why the aversion for chain guides?
