    J,

Maybe you can shed some light on this requirement. I'm not completely understanding the reasoning behind each team being required to have a mandatory volunteer to put in work on the trail.

My guess is that Warrior's Soc. doesn't have the manpower to handle such an event without help. It probably takes a lot of people to make it run smoothly. That's what it sounds like anyway.

And does anyone want to be the average homeboys' mandatory volunteer? [-o-]

Everyone working at the event is a volunteer. Nobody is getting paid to be out there. 24hrs is a long time to have someone volunteer. Several of the other promoters have this as a requirement. It does take a lot of people to run these events. This is one way we help to keep the price of entry down. If it were not for the volunteers that the teams provide, we would have to hire and pay people to work the event....in turn, we would have to raise the entry fee. Most volunteers end up having a really fun time helping out, and believe it or not, the time goes pretty quick.

The volunteer can be someone you bring along, or it could also be one of your teammates.....if you schedule your laps properly.

I hope this helps clear up your concerns.

Thanks for the explanation J. I just wasn't exactly sure of the reasoning, but thought it was along those lines.

I can't wait for this event!!!
