Cross me off the maybe list and add me to the "in" list for the 2nd team aka the Average Homeboys.

Went out and scouted what we want to add for the event. It won't be much different than the Cytomax race. Start/finish will be in a new location. You will get more warm up before you hit the first singletrack climb. We are also looking at adding some singletrack at the top of the "Lar-Dog Trail"(1st singletrack climb with the 3 switchbacks before the DH course) to level out the nasty fireroad climb up to the DH section. It will only add about 4 mins. to the average lap time, but will make some of the climbing a little less tiedious.

I will race with you guys. We still need two more riders. Not sure about Ride2Live.

 

Let me know if you need a another rider. I am thinking about racing the event. However I do not want to do it solo. I think a 5 person team would be fun. I guess I should do one of the races so that I can ride the course that I designed.

You should race the course. You did an excellent job. I had a great time a the Cytomax Spring Challenge. Like I said before I really want to ride this, but on a team. You are more than welcome to join us, just know that we are not officialy organized yet.

 

I would recomend that those that are going to race, register ASAP. There is a cap of 300 total riders so register early and guarentee your spot.

Race Fee

I just went to the Warriors website to sign up for the Toads festival. While I was there I looked into this race and was a little surprised at the cost. $85 seems a little steep.

Have you looked at what it costs to race 24hrs of Adrenaline or Granny Gear 24hr events. Solo riders pay $350-$400, 5 person teams pay $125 per person.

Team Big Bear used to charge $100 each rider for 12hrs of Snow Summit.

At $85 per rider, we are considerably lower than the bigger promoters. We also include after race meal, which the lager prooters do not. Do some research, you will see what I am talking about.

PLus we are local....with gas prices as high as they are, we are within 30mins of just about anywhere in OC.

Plus, most paid $45 to do 2 laps at the Cytomax Spring Classic. On a 5 person team, you will be doing 4-7 laps for less than twice that entry fee.

Don't think anyone has actually registered yet. Still rallying the team, we're 3/5 of the way there. Dino, TRob...what gives? Commit!

 

I'm thinking of doing this so if anyone needs a slow rider w/extra pounds that wants to do it just for fun than have your people call my people!!

 

i reg. for the 24 hrs yesterday. goin solo, so i want to let the teams know that im spoken for. so far, its kippy, dukethenuke and myself goin solo. we need to make sure we get are tents together for STR riders!~

 

Ok, update! hbrunner is riding solo. I want to ride with a team. So if anyone needs one more rider (namely, me)...let me know ASAP so we can get the details worked out! Thx!

 

Mtnbikej is looking for people and there's some others who are interested in racing. (jose? lance?)

 

Mtnbikej doesn't want to be a team capt., he just wants to "top off" a team that's short 1 or 2 riders. I guess I'm looking for the same thing, but it doesn't look like that's an option at this point. I think a new team would have to be formed...and fast.

Is anyone else out there committed to participating?

 

I have posted before that I want to race. I'm now concerned about putting up the $85 and then someone flaking or not being able to get a volunteer. If we had 5 for sure I would have no problems.

I'll be up for this race if you need a novice rider. I can pre-ride on the 27th but I can't make the 21st date. I won't know my lap time and how hard I can push it until the pre-ride. Let me know and I'll sign up.
