Here's a vid of the dog incident (hope it works, can't imbed) (might be objectional to animal lovers)

My understanding it was Cauvin on the Hutchinson team and he was given another run because of the dog. On his second run he flatted right at the top and DNFd.

And poor dog, might have gotten a broken leg(?).... looks like it still had it's leash on but wasn't being held. Owner should be tied down in the middle of the track for the next race.

From the video it looks like the dog was uninjured.

Was basing my thought off of this other video. Dog looks to be favoring/not putting weight on one hind leg. I could be wrong, but still could have been real bad for the dog and the rider. (video caption says "dog did not seems to be injured". Hope not. Still, shame on the owner.

According to the guy who uploaded the pic, the dog's hind left leg got run over, but seemed to be okay afterwards. The dog's owner got blasted for letting the dog get in that situation.

Maybe the dog smelled something on the Frenchman... JK JK!

The difference between the 1st placed rider and the 57th placed rider.

I want to see a clip of Fishbach's "scrub" when he got that flat... that was badass.

Windham is shaping up to be a fast one! Claudio's course preview is pretty rad as always.

Mulally looking good, Gwin gains a few points back from Brosnan, but Ratboy pulls ahead of Gwin further. Should be exciting!

Un friggin' believable. The winning margin was completely unexpected!!! 2nd place dude visibly disappointed, but gains some valuable points.

Heart breaker at the end for 2nd place. On a course that short a win by that much is a landslide.

Loic had issues - I think he hit the deck. His teammate did pretty well though.

replay is up, just watched it.

    Loic got a front flat.

Him crashing and getting flats is killing my fantasy results. He is a way better rider but these mishaps are hurting his (and my) season.

Live feed starting right about now. Juniors have already raced and results should be popping up on the usual sites.

Ratboy looking unstoppable, likely even able to still get a good result despite a mechanical, so I'm rooting for Sam, Troy, and Aaron for the "upset". I wonder if they'll be able to chop off at least 10 seconds off of their qualifying times, with final times around 3:12. Only Gwin and and Troy can contest Ratboy for the overall; Ratboy would have to miss the podium for them to have a chance.

I expect Rach to absolutely crush it. I'd be surprised if her time could place her in the top 50 men, or with the junior men, perhaps with a ~3:40 run on such a course. The top 3 will likely be Rach, Emmeline, and Manon, so Manon should get the overall, since she has a good lead.

Results from Qualifying, for reference: http://dirtmountainbike.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/DHI_ME_Results_QR.pdf

Watching the top 3 women, Rach's Fox suspension looks like it handled the course significantly better, judging from the amount of feedback in her arms, especially noticeable on the holes on the bottom of the course.

Noticed that the guys running softer suspension are getting hung up quite a bit, like that Norwegian guy that came down after Cauvin. These guys getting 3:35 times aren't looking like they're slow at all... only goes to show how superhuman the top 10 are.
