VQ and CC are great events. That's why they sell out so quickly. I knew many people that would sign up year after year and never train or intend on doing the race knowing they can sell the spot anytime. That would take away from people that really want to do the race. The new rules are much better.

Registration was a cluster fuk on Amtrak Century level. Last year 41 people DNS the CC...trails are open, ride when you want (this being said with no disrespect toward the OG's).

    In for my 4th VQ!

I signed up contrary to what I was telling myself hiking up WHT earlier this year, contrary to what I was telling myself the year before, contrary to the year before... etc.

And one of those spots you can blame on the guy that registered for both events...."wasn't sure which one I was going to do"......then didn't do either event....DNS.

No need to blame, just stating a fact...please don't take it personally.

A friend of mine that did get in for the CC (he knew about that DVD crap), and he said I should ride support for him like the pro roadies in the TDF, LOL!!!

Fumble fingers had some issues and freaked me out- crap - CC filled up - so I took the leap
GAME ON - VQ - HERE I COME - I am open to training buddies? I have very flexible hours and can train week days and weekends! Send me a message and let's do this!

That would be great. How early? I'm used to 6am starts. Time for lights :) . A ride with someone having SS experience would certainly help. And, a motivator will keep the procrastination at a minimum.

that's crazy - i did CC last year and it as tough, so i am going to work very hard for VQ this year -- btw, can people register for both? that sucks! I think it sucks that anybody registers and does not show up, unless there is some legitimate medical reason -! If you take the spot, then suit up, show up, man up, and ride it

    what is OG?

I did the same thing - Hope i have the guts to turn left and make cut offs

If you don't make that cutoff at Holy Jim Parking lot, you won't be allowed to turn left. You're number plate will be removed. You can choose to go on your your own, but the WS will no longer be responsible for your safety

5:30am-6:00am would be best as I have to be to work around 9am on sundays...honestly B* to Motorway or Maple to the Peak and back is well within that time frame plus climbing in the dark is not so demoralizing hahahahahaha!

I still have a cast on my right hand so give me about 2-3 more weeks and I will be MTB ready!

Thanks ;-) - yeah, that's what I meant - i know that's the cut off - I started training today Maple Springs to SP - If i can't make a cutoff, personally, i would not want to go on.
i have the utmost respect for the WS and that they know exactly what they are doing and why there are cutoffs! Sorry I misspoke.
