Never been a fan of kona's aesthetically but the new ones like the operator and now the entourage look a lot better. Kona should have a raw frame option.

I agree on their aesthetic, it's always had kind of a kitschy feel to it but my old Dawg Deluxe was a great bike. This bike seems to continue their tradition of goofy names but seems pretty cool. I wonder how it pedals up.

    PAGING MAXWELL!!! Your rides here!

Just wish Kona would post some other info for sizing other than large, WTH is that?? How about a ST length? I look like a crazy guy carrying a tape measure into the shop to measure all the bikes, but at 6'4" these things are important. Much love Kona otherwise!

why would they do that seat tube angle and location? you have absolutely no option for running a decent length seat post and your sitting on the back of the rear wheel, theres a reason the stinky was so successful

The Kona rep came out with a fleet of King Kahunas and a Hei Hei 29er.

Conjecture! Do you know the seat tube angles on this particular Kona?? Your probably one of those people who would say the same thing about the Pivot Phoenix however my pedaling ability would suggest you'd be very wrong.

The pivot is basically an updated Sunday and I'm sure can climb well just like the old Sundays. This kona has a steeper or if not steeper at least severely interrupted seat tube

Not always, some the interrupted portion is not long enough to fully utilize a dropper post.

well, I like the 65* HA, and the 13.5" BB, and the 16.5" stays. sounds like it would be a good bike for fontana races...

I'm with ricky on the seat tube though. unless you live near a real bike park, you're kinda limited on it. it seriously looks like they could have put an uninterrupted (or close to it) seat tube on it, and had the seat in the same place it is now, but still have it able to be pedaled well. oh well.

Pedaling? I didn't see any pedaling in that video - Push 'a Kona, and Hike a Bike, yes. But no pedaling...

? what would be the difference between this and the Operator FR version? Geo looks the same, just less travel?

no, but I like the ability to pedal bikes. makes them more useful, and they get ridden more often. it's a practicality thing more than anything.

less travel, seems to be optimized for a 6" fork vz. a 180mm/200mm fork.

It really reminds me of the SS. But then again the new one has the same issue. Sometimes I wish I still had mine.

I'd have to agree with this one. At the 170mm travel range, built up right, this thing could be an all mountain beast if not for that interrupted seatpost.

And I'd rather not be forced to buy a $300 seatpost for a heavy-duty bike like this one.

Waiting to see the nitty gritty on this one (price point, final geo, etc...) - was dabbling between the Operator FR and a SS2 and going to pull the trigger this summer.

I don't think he does much riding uphill.

Why doesn't Kona like Marzocchi anymore?
