This years Leadville 100 is under way, getting my mtn bike geek on by following it in on their website, Facebook & Twitter. Singletrack.com has some cool short videos on the lead up to it with some nice interviews with the pros.

Its looking like Levi's record is gonna fall. Wells 5 min faster a few minutes ago. Pua was doing well but has dropped back & now Rusch is in first I believe. For not being able to see it, following on Twitter is kinda fun...and fits in the work schedule to.

Weather must be great up there (plus I think they had a little rain yesterday so the trails are probably in top shape). To think Dave Weins record a few years ago was 7h5m and now there's a whole group of these guys on pace for 6h30m.

I wonder if its athlete improvement or bike improvement. Wells is riding a 19.5 lbs Speialized 29er hardtail. That's road Nike lite.

More like Wells is a top 15 World Cup XC racer and he actually took the race seriously this year.

Pretty sure he took it seriously last year. Trouble was he crashed and it messed up his bike. Ned Overend even gave up his wheel (or some other part) so Wells could stay in the race.

Yeah Levi's record is intact, Levi even tweeted about his relief. Lol not suee how the women finished Gu I think Rusch is in the lead. Now a big Congrats to all the age-groupers & non pros. It'll be a long haul for some of them.

Nope, last year he totally winged it, last minute registration and all. This year he actually stayed at altitude leading up to it.

Women killed it this year. Bummed Pua had some bike issues (shifter/front wheel?). She was leading for much of the start. Rusch smashed her record, Gretchen got 2nd, Pua 3rd. Way to go ladies!! Manny got 8th! I think Tinker got in the top 30.

Can't wait to hear how some of our STR crew did (Impy, iPhrankie, Cow, etc).

Very, very fast field out there this year. I believe Manny got 9th. with a 6:32. That's insane as a couple years ago they just broke the 7 hour mark!

According to the Twitter feed 9th and 10th was a sprint finish between Manny and Gerry with Manny just edging him out. Tinker finished 15th. Another local, Doug Andrews finished 70th (and 3rd in the 50-59 age group).
