Not given up the roadie for health reasons - just having more fun doing BIG LONG dirt rides. I've only been riding my road bike 4 days a week for 10-15 mile lunch rides; no hills but always lots of WIND in Mojave.

I can't ride this weekend so have a great ride...
Next weekend planning on what looks like a 75 mile dirt loop with ~9K elevation gain if anyone's interested. Not sure of exact mileage or elevation gain but we have gps profiles of half of it and guessing the rest. will start in either Castaic, Lake Hughes, or Sandberg - not sure yet.

Looks like we could end up with around 10 riders for this one. Anyone else want to jump in let me know and I'll give you the meeting information.

    Very tentatively in.

I am a little bit on the sick side of things, but if I feel good in the AM, I will join.

I will be on the very slow side of things, though.

    PM me some details?

Another training ride in the books. Lesper4, Good Ol Slappy, New2mtb, Jeff^d, Eric and I did part of the route today. Well, we did around half of the route. My Garmin had us at 53.1 miles---7100' of climbing----4500 calories burned-----and almost 6 hours of riding. Next week some of us are doing the Dawson Saddle ride (60 to 70 miles with 7400' of climbing) and some others are doing the Palm Springs Century. Feel free to PM me if you want specifics.

Mike - which route are you taking to Dawson - up 39 or up lone pine, and are you doing the loop or an out and back? I'm sorta planning a 50 mile 9K dirt loop out near Castaic next weekend if Abui wants to join in; if he doesn't, I'll come out and ride with you guys as long as it's not too early as it takes me an hour or so to get there.

David,-Good Ol Slappy (Nick) is setting it up, I just told him I wanted to do it also. I suspect we will probably get a 8 am start and it'll be an out and back. I believe he said we'd climb the 39 but I or he will get back to you on the particulars. Are you doing BA?

Thanks Mike - yes I'm reg'd for BA. Hard for me to get away for rides these days though.
I've been enjoying the dirt more than road lately, I guess 'cause I just can't seem to get back up to the old speed on the road bike. 8AM is good for me.
