I think it looks pretty sweet! A little different, but cool. It looks like it has a tapered headtube, which in my opinion, blows. I understand the idea, and see its benefit, but 1.5s, and 1.125s do just fine.:-k

It's a size small and proto, so it may end up looking better in normal person sizes and in final production. I like the new adjustments they've made since 09. I am impressed with Giant.

Looks like the same thing Fisher did with the Hi-Fi, not surprising since in all likelihood they came out of the same factory. Perhaps the bulge is to keep rocks from damaging ones tootsies:?:, but as a bike it's bloated, busy and overwrought.

while I do like that they're changing things a little (bigger linkage bearings, thru-axle in back, etc), it is pretty ugly IMO. don't get me wrong, giants are great bikes, but I'll take my clean looking 2007 any day...

I'd take better access to the rear shock than asthetics any day. And if it means they also updated their linkage bearings and have TA rear AND is lighter? No contest. I'll be looking to replace my Reign regardless of how the new one looks.

I love my Reign...and I gotta tell you, I'm not a fan of this new design at all. I agree that the tube bending looks way over designed.

Although maybe in person it will be different. Just something about the Giants that I like for guys my size (6'3"). Probably all in my head, but mine just feels solid...not like some of the rigs I tried which were lighter, but felt like they would snap like a chicken bone.

Don't fix whats not broken Giant. We don't need George Jetson designs for the future.

I actually like the new design!

I am fairly certain the bends were made for... a reason
I trust the designers (at Giant) knew what they were doing
Strong, light (30 pounds) and cheap... This bike has it all

The Reign (was) on the "Top 5 List" to replace my MKIII...
From the looks of the new bike, it may have moved up a spot or two!
    Can't wait to demo one!

P.S.- Any idea on bottom bracket height?

its the bean counter philosophy versus engineers philosophy. some people go for looks, id rather go for what works. its a damn mtn bike, its not like you can pick up chicks in it. :)

yeah im not a fan of the sloping tube trend that seems to be all the rage now days. i dig the cleaner straight tube look.

If you watch the video he states that the ride is the same. They just found a way to cut out a lot of weight by getting rid of the glory hole.

i actually really like the design. not a fan of the way it looks so much but i think function wise it is much better. super low standover height, and the bent downtube means the shock no longer needs to go through the downtube and have that protective plate over it like on the older design. I want one! 30lb do it all bike!!!
