I'm not a big fan of the Boxxer but this video is cool.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pe5S...ews&mid=9A02E3B96F2A415ABC72CB5F516B4C10&tier
hate to say it, but the damping looks better than that of a fox.. comared to the gopro video where it looks like the fox 40 bottoms out all the time.. i must say, i love my 40 thoguh
gotta ride both to see. with the chassis redesign though, I think Rock Shox lost most of the price advantage over Fox... then again, I'll be able to find an old boxxer for super cheap. woot for defunct technology :bang:
a quick look yields this: Fox 40 (from Fox site): 3090g 2010 Boxxer WC (per sicklines): 2720g 2010 boxxer team/race: 2950g previous boxxer WC: 2812g pervious boxxer team/race: 3129g basically, the boxxer kicks the 40's ass weight-wise. the WC is almost a pound lighter than a 40. granted, a 40 is a coil fork, and is FAR stiffer (by sheer physics). for around here? I'd go boxxer. nothing super crazy that needs a 40. if it's good enough for world cup, it's good enough for me.
So is it the 2010 version or the 2009? The title says 2010 but under the info for the video it says; "Mountain Bike Action magazine editor Ryan Cleek riding 2009 RockShox Boxxer fork in La Fenasosa, Bike Park in Alicante, Spain." :-k
It seems more like it will be 2009 1/2.:?: They have 2009 models out now but dont have any of the changes.
That was great I am still laughing.:lol::lol: I was thinking the same thing. Someone with my sense of humor
as far as I can tell, it's a 2009.5 model. basically they are shipping '2009' boxxers in the old design while they finish up development and production on the new ones. I've heard early spring for ETA on the new ones (just in time for DH season)
Im with you on this. I went from a Marz 66 RCV to a 08 Team and I still cant get over how much more I love it.
Not quite a perfect comparison, but my Totem is way better damped than my 36, and the 36 is damn good. Mission Control is very, very good. The flood gate is sort of useless, but the damper itself is solid.
