Well then I say the same thing to them. Don't enter a thread about discussing a race that is over for the day. What do they expect to be here "wow did you see that" and other completely random statement that mean nothing?

Ok I've edited the title so it reflects what info will be on this thread. Lets keep the drama out of this. Thanks.

    Gene,
You might want to put SPOILER ALERT! in the title, just so it's explicitly clear to people.

OMG!! I've missed him so much!! Say and think what you like, he is a great racer! I'm hoping for a Astana 1 2 podium. No particular order.
He looks relaxed and is smiling. It's just so good to have him back in the Tour!! No matter what he does!
Pivotal stage...Mt. Ventoux (bragging rights, I've climbed it 4 times over the years! :)) He has always said that missing out on Ventoux and gifting it to Pantani was his biggest regret. This has been a great race so far. I do really miss Horner though!

by the way... for those that can't catch Versus or don't want to DVR it (and have the spending money), you can watch it on http://www.versus.com/tourdefrancelive. For $34 you have access to the entire Tour. You can watch it live with no commercials and without the side stories. Or you can watch any entire stage, fast forward through the boring sections etc., at any time after the live broadcast. In the beginning of every stage its an English broadcaster I've never heard before, but then its Phil and Paul giving the play by play for the entire stage (from about the moment in the stage the TV broadcast actually starts). Picture is super clear and big. Almost better than watching it on TV.

As for Lance and Alberto and the rest, the real big Daddy here is Bruyneel. Talk about the master - 5 guys in the top 10 in GC. I have a feeling that LAnce and Alberto will come into the next to the last stage 1 and 2 in GC, close to eah other with the rest of the field minutes behind. Then they battle it out against each other on Ventoux and let the best man win!

    That's great, thanks.

Is it JUST live or can you watch it on a delay? Like when you get to work? :)

    TOUR DE LANCE !!
    VOECKLER CLAIMS STAGE FIVE
THOMAS Voeckler of France claimed a victory in the fifth stage of the Tour de France, a 196.5km ride from Le Cap d'Agde to Perpignan.
Following a long breakaway, Voeckler made his move five kilometres from the line to escape from a small group of riders.
Mikhail Ignatiev of Russia came second, just ahead of Britain's Mark Cavendish.
Fabian Cancellara of Switzerland retained the yellow leader's jersey.
Seven-time Tour de France champion Lance Armstrong is second overall, by a fraction of a second.

I thought Lance was tied for first place. The mountains will let us know who is the real winner of the tour

you can watch the entire stage on delay, at any time, and if you like you can fast forward through parts.

:) I was planning on calling in sick for Stage 20 but just saw it's on a Saturday! *doh*!! Should have thought of that!!
That is one stage where I will be GLUED to live TV!!

Meanwhile, I pinched this off RBR. It's pretty funny!!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2MxMRmooVk0

Highlight!! Voeckler winning! I have always liked him after his determination in yellow. This cements him as a real racer and not some fly by night seat of the pants guy!!

So these shots are from last October when Jeanine and I went to France for two weeks. It was my forth time climbing Ventoux and the first on my single. The other 3 times were on a tandem.

One shot is some DH mountain bikers heading off down the mountain. Lots of trails up there.
Every road shot is a guarantee's 9 t0 11% grade but the photo's flatten it out. Once you get up there you can buy some awesome candy that you can only get on Mt. Ventoux. There is a place you can validate your climb.
That's also for these people... Go for it if you think you are tough enough!

The last shot is the downhill!! WOW!! It RIPS!!!

Oh man those pics are sweet Dirtmistress! I've got to get over there next year and spend some time riding some stages before the Tour Starts. Ventoux is a climb I want to do so badly! Can't wait to see how Astana does in the mountains tomorrow. Naturally I want Lance to cement himself as a team leader by dominating Contador. As you say it's so great he is back. Go Lance!

Thor for the win today! I've gotta say those Cervelo bikes are looking SWEET. Anyone own one?

Great pictures Dirtmistress. Soon as my son gets old enough we are taking a family vacation and riding the big climbs in France.
    When I say old enough, I mean 3. He is 1. :)

Off to do the Death Ride tomorrow with Brian.
7 hours of driving- 10 hours of riding- 7 hours of driving
What is wrong with me, I am sick in the head, and its great.

Tell Brian I'm sorry things didn't work out. If it's any consolation, I feel like I'm getting sick.
    Can't beat France for riding!!
