    Happy New Year everyone!!! :)

Okay, so I just weighed myself, and I am at 213.4 pounds. (I'm also 5'11" tall). I will also take a picture but won't force any of you to look at it just yet!

Good luck to everyone involved and I hope we can all vastly improve our health in 2008! :)

    Good luck Grasshoppers....

I know you can do this & your heart will thank you for it ... just keep thinking how much faster you'll be goin up those hills .... like a feather floating upwards. It's going to be great to see all the "new" bodies in great condition in 2008.

OK, first day of the year. I am 275.5lb, I am 6'1". My goal is 225lb by the end of the year, for some who don't know me it might still seem a lot, but at 225lb I am skinny.

My plan is to ride as much as possible.

Last year, I went out for lunch almost every day, which often mean junk food.
I will bring my lunch, this is the best way for me to control. I am very contented with a sandwich or a bowl of soup and a fruit.
I hardly never snack between meal. I don't drink soda.

This is a picture of me at 225lb, racing with CPATCRASH on the main divide a few years ago.

This morning I tipped the scales at 198.9 pounds of raw, weight-loosing ambition. The holiday fudge is gone, the only cookies left are those icky pecan ones, and the fridge is chock full of fresh vegetables. Man, I already feel like I've lost a pound or two!

    Lardass!!!

    Ok,

My scale survived this mornings weigh-in! Unfortunately (for me) it is very accurately correct...286!!!#-o I'm only 5'10" but can carry 220# very comfortably. I'm not going for a final weight goal for myself this year, only for the "contest". My true goal is to be able to walk into any surf shop and pick a pair of trunks off of the rack. Most shops don't carry sizes over 38" and I am currently a 42". Good luck to all!

Try and figure this one out...

I rode 7350 miles for the year (new record for me) and managed to gain 12 pounds???

I'm not in the contest as I only want to lose about 15 pounds, but I am on the sidelines rooting for you guys and gals.

Starting weight (official) 263.0 lbs. Height 6'0'. Clothing: bike shorts, jersey, barefoot. I'll make sure to wear the same at the final weigh in. I'm hoping to be around 180 or so, but thats a goal for the year, this is just the start.

I'm actually surprised at my weight because I was 285 in may '07. Guess I'm starting at a disadvantage .

Good luck all, and hope we all lose more than our goals.

Ok folks.. I weighed in at 307.5 ready pounds. In July when I started mtb'ing again I was at 335lbs.. I got down to 288lbs around Oct07 and then had a new baby boy along with much holiday eating and have gained back about 20lbs.. I look forward making a big push to drop another 50lbs and this will be great motivation. Lets get some rides scheduled and motivate each other.. I see many posters here that live near me.. I do most of my riding in the Coto, Rancho, Trabuco area.. I got lights if anyone wants to go after dark or early morning.. Most weekends are free.. drop me a line.. All my rides are posted on Geoladders linked in my signature..

Here is my pic from this morning before heading out on the first ride of the new year..

Skinny, you carry your weight well my friend you dont look 300+ to me at all. I would have guessed you more around 230. You should be able to get that down substantially this year with alot of riding.

I was almost 260 at the start of last year and got down to 190 with mostly riding and some running. Im now 210 but only added muscle back through weights and diet. Funny we have much of the same background I raced offroad for years and also was involved in MA for about 12 years. Here is a good before and after pick from my 07 year.

    First Weigh In

So here's my weigh-in, I'm 5'4 and am at 162.8 (been working hard to get it back down after a mild thyroid problem). I took before-pics as well but it took courage enough posting my weight to the public (that whole feminine modesty thing, but figured it would hold me more accountable than just one person knowing)... Just in running shorts, a tank top, and barefooted. My realistic goal is 10 lbs but more importantly it is to feel healthier and happier. And remember to celebrate every 5 lbs, not just when you reach your bigger goal (for even more motivation). Good luck everyone!

    Some really good free website

    http://www.calorie-count.com/
great logging tool for daily intake (with nutrition analyzer), excersize, and weight (you get to see a nifty graph with a built in trend)

    http://www.mypyramid.gov/index.html
good reading material for the newbies to nutritional eating (BALANCE is key)

    http://www.nutritiondata.com/
similar to calorie-count but a much beefier nutrution analyzer and good when you need to see what better options exist

I'll post more towards the fitness/working out aspect later =)
