    Food Help

Here are a couple pdf files that might help out with the nutrition side of things. The guy who wrote these (Tom Venudo) is a natural body builder who knows A LOT about fat loss. A lot of what I've learned about proper nutrition for fat loss is because of him.

The files are "Foods that Burn Fat" and "Foods that Turn to Fat." If you eat the right foods in the right ratios and your training/riding program is good, you will undoubtedly see great results. Make sure to have a few cheat meals every week so you don't go crazy.

    Good luck guys/gals!!

I could live off of oatmeal, tuna, egg white, and veggies. Sounds like a plan.

Well, I'm about to leave on vacation, and don't plan on accessing the Net at all till i get back late New Year's Day. I hope to see even more entries and a whole slew of weigh-ins (i'll be doing mine the morning of Jan. 2) when i get back. For the record, the payout currently stands at $163 (PayPal fees have dinged the total a bit). Would love to see this thing top 200 bucks. Also, I still plan on posting a get-to-know-you ride for the contestants sometime in January. Just have to wait for my schedule to clear up a bit.

    Best of luck, everyone.

    8 Weeks Free at Ballys

This might be a useful tool; our challenge is coinciding with Discovery Health Channel's 2008 Weight Loss Challenge. It's free to sign up:
    http://health.discovery.com/national-body-challenge/national-body-challenge.html

AND if you register before Jan. 11th you can get 8 weeks at Bally Total Fitness (for those bad weather days you can't get on your bike, cross-training, or weights) that is usable from Jan 5th to March 2nd! Pretty sweet since its free...

I'll make another post about my favorite FREE websites for nutrition/fitness (GREAT TOOLS!) later...

    Hope this helps =)

Guys and girls... I've found the answer!!!!

All you have to do is ride 50 miles and you will lose weight. It worked for me at Rwanda... I lost 3.5 lbs!...it can work for you. Just ride a 50 miler each day and the weight will absolutely come off... oh, and you shouldn't eat anything during and after the ride. I guarantee this will work for you.

A great side effect: people will give you free food because you'll look like a scarecrow after a couple of weeks of 50 milers....

Count me in for the bragging rights. My goal is for the long run, 1 year to loose 50lb. 1 lb a week is a realistic goal. I am planning to do next year's 50 miles ride 50lb lighter.

seriously. I could pick up a cheap 80's road bike and do a 50 miler each weekend. It wouldn't be that hard starting at azusa canyon and riding to the beach. A slight grade the whole way with a couple of climbs, great for breaking in a single speed.
    I might just do that.

Ya'll better watch out Im a fat boy on a mission.

As difficult as this game sounds, I just kicked in ten bucks. While I was off from riding, I packed on seven pounds. This will be a good motivator to shed it, and then some.

The exciting part is the improved power-to-weight ratio. By April 1, all of us players will have to add extra weight to our packs just so we won't make the others feel bad.
