I've also raced the course cold the two other times I've rode at Vail. I will turn a very easy lap on Friday the night before to make sure I don't want to change tires or anything and get a feel for any techy spots.

Oherwise, I've been so burnt out on riding that I haven't touch my bike all week and won't this weekend either.

But Hey, Allison has had pretty good luck preparing for races by pre-riding a lot so I wouldn't break with tradition. :)

I've been really worn out/sore all week. Not sure what is going on.

We had 4 crazy weeks of exercise last month.. so I finally take it easy for a week and I feel like crap. I think maybe I should've just kept up with 150 miles this week and lots more exercise #-o

Hoping to see how I feel tonight. I slept a lot last night and feel as bad today as I did yesterday on almost an hour less sleep.

Dude, I've been suffering Bike Malaise since the Traverse. I didn't recover right after that race and just felt like I've had dead legs during the riding I did the following few weeks. Mentally just wasn't having fun either. So I'm taking some time off this week and will take it easy to save my juju for Temecula. Too much bike the past month I guess.

Yeah, hear ya. I am worried if I take off too much time next week my legs will be just slow, but who knows. I'm not gonna kill myself with mileage next week either. Maybe one to two flat evening rides.. maybe a few commutes. Vail should be my only climbing next week, I think.

We'll see how the legs work, though.

I'll be out there Friday afternoon for a pre-ride as well.

I got 11 Pickle Juice Sports left. I tried to get some other people to try some, but they always just take a little sip, grimace, and hand me back the bottle. What's up with that?

    from jason on mtbr:

    Here is the latest!
    - You will go right around the saddle
    - Vics trail is a go!
    - The new ridgeline is looking awesome. (I will be working on a few things all week getting it more dialed in)
    - The small detour on the top singletrack ( the one before the switchback trail - Justines trail) will be omitted - it worked around the sandy chute at the end of the first sideline singletrack - it is going to be a great addition to the trail, but it is to soft and is getting really beaten up. So we are still going down the sandy chute section. But I will clean it up as much as possible.
