Probably too small for you. I am 5'8 with really long arms & legs. It just depends on how you are proportioned. I prefer a smaller cockpit for DH racing. You are welcome to try it out, if you like. I tried to find the specs but couldn't. The 2009 specs show 5'0" to 5'8" for a small and 5'6" - 6'0" for a medium.

The Socom would be perfect for Julia..........a DH legend passing the frame on to a legend-to-be!

Ok Nancy, I have to ask, what did you like about the M6 over the SOCOM? Was it the head angle?

No, I actually love my Socom but I have been racing/riding it for 2 years and I am ready for a new frame. I don't like to keep DH frames for longer than 2 years because I still want to be able to get a decent price for it when I sell it. ;)

    Elvia,

I have a small Socom built up if Julia would like to take it for a test ride before buying Nancy's frame.

I know your thinking VERY hard about this frame!! Take up the chance to have her ride either Nancy's or Duc's. This is a great price and a great frame, it would be the perfect frame for what Julia wants to do..

:-k I'm not sure why I thought I saw a picture of it as just the frame. Could be the delirium caused by the stress at work lately. :?:

Oh well, I guess the offer is still out there if anyone else is interested in testing out a small Socom.

    Thanks Duc!

Julia has tried a Socom. It's the bike she's had her eye on for sometime. She rode the Socom around El Moro.

We really appreciate your offer on lending us your bike.

Julia doesn't really know about this, she thinks DM is letting her borrow the bike. Which is somewhat true, DM is letting her try it out.

I thought she tried out a Slopestyle, or did she try a socom too?

FYI, Intense is coming out with some new dropouts for the M3/Socom/Uzzi that will slacken the HA/STA by 1 degree, drop the BB by 1/2", and lengthen the CS/WB by 1/4". With the new dropouts, the Socom will be pretty close to the geo of the M6.

I'd consider getting the dropouts and keeping the Socom (I'm getting some for my Uzzi). Pricing is TBD, but they'll certainly be cheaper than moving to an M6. Just something to think about. Check the MTBR Intense forum for details.

It may be, but I do like a fairly small frame.
2wheellee was riding a small I M3 I think but don´t know if they are comparable.
If you can set up a test ride, great. PM me and let me know.

How does the weekend sound? I can both days. I´m in Idyllwild but can come down and try it out, just let me know where.
Look forward to trying it. Santa may be good to me but he may also be hit by a financial crisis this year. If there bis a new DH bike or frame coming down the chimney, I´ll let you know.
    Merry Christmas
