So i have had time on both a 20 and a 26 and im not sure which i like best.
The 26 is lazier easy to keep speed , easier to adjust for short/ling landings, less active in the air and in packs.

The 20 is way more active, easy to throw around in the air, I can bring my 20 so flat its almost upside down, and can only throw my 26 almost flat,
Harder to keep speed, but easier to maintain speed in a pack

the 20 is twitchy steering, but my black market with a 80mm fork feels lazy at dj speed

    whats peoples opinion?
I know mudman went back to a 20

    I vote for the 26.

I have had a couple of 20" DJ bikes and I alway end up back on the 26. The big bike just gives me more room for error and I make a lot of them.:)

honestly, my opinion doesn't count much, but here's what I notice:

I've ridden my 20 at the BMX track and I'm okay jumping it on some stuff. I've also ridden various 26's and I've done more jumping on them.

for me, the bigger bike just feels better. easier transition from my mountain bikes to the DJer, and the bigger bike fits my frame a bit better (I am a sasquatch, even if I'm a skinny one). Also, it's bigger and more stable to me.

granted, I'm also pretty n00b when it comes to DJ anything, so I'm also not much help there.

do what's more fun. I'll happily ride your riot if you wanna keep rockin the 20 though ;)

    Tough Call...

    1) I always thought you would be happiest on a 24" cruiser.
Fast... Nimble... Flickable..... Everything you could want!

    2) I have a 20" BMX bike at home.
The reason I have never taken it to the track is: IT'S TOO DAMN TWITCHY!

    3) Only been (2) 26" bikes I have felt comfortable riding on the track...
    A) Ricky's Black Market B) Jeff's GT Ruckus
Slightly undersized. Quick. Relatively Light (especially Jeff's).
All other 26" bikes (I have ridden) seem to be too slow and/or unresponsive!
The thing that bothers me most about 26" *BMX* bikes: The extended wheelbase can make the high speed runs through the whoops a bit of an ordeal.
The smaller bikes are sooo much faster!

I would choose a 24" if you needed a "Do-All" BMX specific bike
I would choose a 26" lightweight, short wheelbase, slightly undersized, single speed, DJ bike if you were looking for something more versitile

    One Man's opinion....

    he he he..

well hers where I stand for now,
20" for most dj and skatepark, I dont want to loose my comfort on a 20
26" for 4x and whoops style dj
20" for the bmx track hands down the fastest

I actually have no problems switching off between my 20'' BMX street and my 26'' Mob. The bmx track doesnt really count at DJ IMO.

For DJ and Street I prefer my BMX. For more downhill/whoops I prefer 26''. For any kind of general jumping right now- it's just easier on the bmx. I can jump higher and throw around the bike easier even though I'm not a very good rider.

In general- if it's doable on my bmx, that's what I prefer.

come to think of it, I haven't ridden my Mob for almost 6 months now!
I'm selling my Free Agent Limo 24 if you wanna buy that.

I'm actually planning on getting a 20'' .38 special in the future for the track. That's when I'll return. :)

    I'm up for a bowl.. ;)

I'd bring my Blackalicious for sure if we roll out to the bowl. I can't be scratching my Mob. She's for racing only...

I could imagine switching from a BMX bike to a DJ bike wouldn't be much of a difference. short TT, just bigger wheels. it's going from a straight mountain bike to the littler things that get you. I lose like 5" of top tube length going from my trek to my (or anyone elses) bmx/dj bike. that's a pretty big difference.

    we need water!

oh and gary, stop being a wuss and get that mob dirty :)

I don't have any problems going from my Demo 8 to my BMX. It only takes 5 mins to adjust.

haha I just can't DJ the Mob thats all. The bike is too difficult to jump on steep dirt jumps. It's easier for me to throw my BMX away midflight if I'm going crash. Plus the BMX is stronger.
